Don't Get Bitter, Get Better
"See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no "root of bitterness" springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled" (Hebrews 12:15).
Bitterness destroys. It corrodes our heart. And hurts those around us.
When you get hurt, don't get bitter, get better.
You do have a choice.
Choose to get better. To learn from the pain.
How? Consider if you contributed to a hurtful situation in some way. Try to walk in the shoes of the one who hurt you. Thoughtfully mull over what you can learn from what happened. And always fill your heart with God's healing grace, forgiveness, kindness, and compassion.
When you do so, you will become a better person. One filled with grace, mercy, kindness, and forgiveness yourself - yes, even toward those who hurt you.
Don't get bitter. Get better.
You become more like Jesus when you do.
