The Truth Usually Lies Somewhere In Between
"Son, the truth usually lies somewhere in between."
My dad would often say these words to me when I was growing up. As I was trying to figure out which stand to take on an issue. What to believe. How to live my life.
Jesus said that the truth will set you free (John 8:12). It does!
The truth will set you free. Therefore, it's essential to try and find the truth in all situations.
How can this discovery occur?
Sometimes (not often), one side is perfectly correct. It's obvious, little doubt about it. But usually, the truth lies in between two differing opinions. And can only be discovered by careful thought, questioning, and examination.
Therefore, listen to both sides. Study the issue involved. Listen to the Holy Spirit who reveals all truth (John 16:13).
Eventually, you should be able to see the truth.
And always remember: The truth most often lies between the two opposite poles.
