Have We Completely UNDERESTIMATED The Seattle Kraken?? | BB Clips
Are the Seattle Kraken actually legit? Boomer, Pinder and Rhett Warrener take a closer look at one of the biggest surprises of the 2026-27 NHL season as Seattle prepares to face the Calgary Flames for the third time this year. The Kraken have already beaten Calgary twice by identical 6-1 scores, outscoring the Flames 12-2, and now sit at 8-4-1 with 17 points through their first 13 games, the best start in franchise history. That's a pretty remarkable opening month for a team not many people expected to be near the top of the NHL standings. Seattle has scored 48 goals while allowing 46, with Kaapo Kakko producing 10 points and players like Matty Beniers, Jordan Eberle, Brandon Montour and young Berkly Catton giving the Kraken plenty to talk about. But are they actually as good as their record suggests? Despite their success, Seattle has struggled to protect leads, surrendering multi-goal advantages in the third period in three of its last four games. With the Calgary Flames looking for revenge after two ugly losses and trying to bounce back from their Battle of Alberta shutout against the Edmonton Oilers, the boys discuss what has changed in Seattle, whether the Kraken can keep winning and if this team is a legitimate playoff contender in the Pacific Division. It's still early, but how many people honestly saw the Kraken starting the season like this?
