Generation Gap

In this lively and insightful episode of Billified: The Bill Moran Podcast, Bill, Dan, and Kevin are joined by Kevin's oldest son, Sam, who is about to begin his sophomore year at Quinnipiac University. The episode kicks off with Bill sharing a personal update: his 14-year-old son, Jameson, has decided to come live with him. Bill is both excited and nervous about this new chapter, acknowledging the many "moving parts" involved but believing it will be a positive experience for both of them.

As the conversation shifts, the team dives into the current Olympics in Paris, exploring the surprising history of various sports played at the Games. You might be astonished by what you learn! The episode takes a lighter turn when Dan reveals he's lost 30 pounds and, despite using a water bottle with a straw, still manages to spill on himself. Bill then shares a clever scam he heard about someone using to avoid buying a wedding gift, which he finds genius even if you get caught, because it's an easy fix! This leads to a humorous exchange about how Bill never got Dan a wedding gift for his first marriage, claiming he knew it was a bad investment—and as it turned out, he was right!

The discussion then tackles the cost of entertainment, with Kevin pointing out that many people who left cable due to high costs are now spending more on multiple streaming services. Bill feels the need to streamline his subscriptions.

In a nostalgic twist, Bill recounts a story about an old co-worker that Dan has never heard and isn't sure he believes. Dan also explains the next steps in his weight loss journey, which Bill skeptically describes as "voo-doo."

The highlight of the episode is a fun and interactive generation gap game created by Kevin. He quizzes Sam on popular phrases from the '80s and challenges Bill and Dan with modern phrases used by kids today. Play along and see just how wide your generation gap is!Enjoy a blend of personal stories, humor, and a touch of nostalgia in this engaging episode of Billified: The Bill Moran Podcast!
