Pontoon Rescues, Strip Club Tales & Doug’s Wild Dating Strategy

In this unforgettable episode of Billified: The Bill Moran Podcast, Bill welcomes comedian, Uber driver, and former strip club DJ Doug Phelps to the studio for a rollercoaster conversation that blends comedy, courage, and raw honesty.

They kick things off with an unbelievable pontoon boat rescue story that even left Bill speechless — yes, Bill couldn’t even make fun of it (which says everything). From there, things take a heartfelt turn as Bill shares a candid update about his father’s health, the emotional dynamics unfolding within his family, and the tough questions no one wants to ask — but everyone eventually has to.

The episode keeps its comedic edge with a deep dive into illegal ATV and minibike madness in the city — a topic both Doug and Bill see firsthand. Doug also dishes on his dating life, including a potential date with Mallory (who may or may not have gone out with Mark), and shares his offbeat first date idea. Bill even consults ChatGPT for backup date ideas — some ridiculous, some shockingly solid.

It all wraps up with some hilariously personal stories from Doug’s days as a strip club DJ, including a look at where he’s been, where he is, and where he hopes to go.
It’s funny, it’s real, it’s Billified — Enjoy!
