Gina Gardiner & Friends and Ryan Dewey Smith

Ryan Dewey Smith is a visionary leader and operational orchestrator who has spent his career redefining sustainability in health and human services.

The only child of teenage parents, Ryan learned early how to keep himself busy—and more importantly, how to create momentum where none existed. His relentless curiosity and sense of responsibility emerged young, showing up in small but formative ways: helping younger kids, asking bigger questions, stepping up without being asked.

Those traits became the foundation of a life dedicated to building things that matter. After years in behavioral health and nonprofit operations, Ryan launched Inperium from a firehouse office in Reading, Pennsylvania—a bold experiment in nonprofit consolidation that has since grown into a constellation approaching $1 billion in revenue.

As CEO and Founding Executive Chairman of Inperium, Ryan leads with intensity and integrity. He believes real growth demands competition—not with others, but with your own highest standard. His model protects missions while enabling scale, proving that heart and execution aren’t mutually exclusive. Through partnerships, licensing models, and replicable operational systems, Ryan has helped dozens of organizations move beyond survival into sustainable expansion.

Now, in his upcoming book, Sustaining the Mission, Ryan shares the concepts, lessons, and practices behind his success.

His goal is clear: empower a new generation of leaders to grow boldly, act urgently, and never compromise on what matters most.
