Cryptid Women’s Society | The Doctor tells us 'Why We Keep Creating Monsters'

Every culture creates monsters, but what exactly are we trying to warn ourselves about?Lacey sits down with Dr. Emily Zarka - Host of the PBS series ‘Monstrum' to explore folklore, horror and the creatures hiding inside our oldest stories. From oral traditions and Gothic literature to television, movies and modern popular culture, Emily examines how monsters change shape while the human fears behind them remain strangely familiar. This is a conversation about what monsters represent, why folklore survives and what happens when the creature in the story tells us more about humanity than humanity may be comfortable admitting.Turns out the monster under the bed may have been making a point.
