European knockout draws, Blackburn’s curious scouting techniques, and remembering the great Gérard Houllier

Kate, Luke and Jim are here to size up the tasks for the various English sides left in Europe after yesterday’s Champions League and Europa League draws. Good travels to Evil as Frank Lampard faces up to Diego 'Dark Knight' Simeone, while Man City and Liverpool face stern Bundesliga tests in the form of Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig.

Elsewhere, we take a moment to celebrate Gérard Houllier’s amazing career, as numerous stalwarts from across football came together to pay their respects to a humble genius. We also hear the very best and worst of football fandom: namely, your Dad reminding you Cesc Fàbregas doesn’t know you exist and Blackburn Rovers acting on scouting recommendations from an 11-year-old. Probably.
