Frank Lampard’s tenure ends, a mixed night for Gareth Bale, and Mick McCarthy’s back from the beach

The uncertainty around Frank Lampard’s future has finally cleared. The club legend was sacked yesterday amidst a poor run of form and ominous signs in the dressing room. Kate, Luke and Andy are here to look over a tenure that offered encouraging signs initially, but seems now to only have been a temporary solution.

Elsewhere, José Mourinho’s duet with Gareth Ainsworth didn’t go as planned after their 4-1 win, one that flattered a misfiring Tottenham side. We also celebrate Mick McCarthy’s triumphant return from faraway lands, get the lowdown from Andy on Martin Ødegaard and hear some of the best distractions shouted at opposition players.
