Why Do Christians Need Accountability? | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
In this bonus episode I share some updates and talk about the need we all have for accountability, especially in light of recent scandals in the church. I encourage you to welcome people into your life who will point you back to Christ when you mess up. Questions this episode answers Why is accountability important for believers? We all have blind spots, and sin grows best in secret. Trusted friends who love Jesus can help us see what we miss and turn back to Him. Should church leaders be held accountable? Yes. Scripture holds leaders to a high standard, and healthy churches have ways to check and correct those in leadership. Accountability protects both the leader and the people they serve. How do I find an accountability partner? Look for a mature believer you trust who will be both kind and truthful. Pray about it, then ask them to meet regularly and to speak up when they see something concerning. Links Studying Scripture with a small group of women is one of the best ways to build friendships that point us back to Jesus, and that is the heart of Bible Study Live. Bible Study Live is a small-group Bible study trip with Rachael Groll. Study Scripture where it happened in Rome, or slow down for a contemplative Bible study retreat in Maui.
