How Do I Find Peace and Rest When Life Is Hard? (Psalm 4) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Today we finish our first week in the Psalms with David's words in Psalm 4. We look at why hearing God's voice in hard times starts with hearing Him on the ordinary days, and how a real relationship with God is what gives us peace when we need it most. "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety." (Psalm 4:8) Questions this episode answers What is Psalm 4 about? Psalm 4 is a prayer of David asking God to answer him in his distress. He reminds himself that the Lord hears when he calls, and he ends by lying down in peace because God keeps him safe. It shows us how trust turns into rest. How can I have peace when worry keeps me up at night? Psalm 4 invites us to tell God what troubles us and then trust Him with it. David's peace did not come from his problems going away. It came from knowing that God was his safety. Why should I listen for God's voice on good days too? Our relationship with God grows in everyday moments, not only in a crisis. When we practice hearing Him in the normal rhythm of life, we recognize His voice more easily when life gets hard.
