What Do I Do With Shame Over My Sin? (Psalm 6) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Psalm 6 shows David coming to God in desperation and grief over his sin. Today we talk about why we should let God walk us through restoration instead of hiding from Him, and how His mercy can replace our shame. "The LORD has heard my supplication, The LORD receives my prayer." (Psalm 6:9) Questions this episode answers What is Psalm 6 about? Psalm 6 is one of the penitential psalms, a prayer of sorrow over sin. David asks God for mercy and healing, and by the end he is confident God has heard him. Why shouldn't I hide my sin from God? Sin separates us from God, and hiding it only deepens that distance. Bringing it into the light lets God forgive and restore us. How does God's mercy replace shame? Through Jesus, our sin is fully paid for and we are made clean. Romans 8:1 says there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
