Daily Devo | The Valley of Bones (Prophet & Loss, Ezekiel 37:1-14)

After extensively presenting the evidence of Israel's unfaithfulness to God, Ezekiel is now led to presenting an even greater vision of hope based in God's faithfulness. What could be more hopeless than a valley full of bones? God can breathe hope and life even into such a place. This word is not a prediction but a promise -- that God will bring real hope even into places that feel utterly hopeless.

For Reflection:

"Son of man, can these bones rise again?"

- Think of a time when you struggled to find hope. In those dark valleys, it is difficult to see beyond our own struggles. How did you find hope? Who were the people, where were the places, and what were the practices that helped you take hold of the hope we have in Christ?

- Are there areas of your life where you currently struggle to find hope? What can you learn from the past (scripture or personal experience) that might help you to find a stronger foundation for hope even now?
