Daily Devo | When God Sends You Into the Storm (New Testament in a Year, Mark 6:30-56)
After feeding the five thousand, Jesus sends his disciples ahead by boat while He goes up on a mountainside to pray. In so doing, Jesus was sending them into a storm! Obeying Jesus is no guarantee of smooth sailing! What it does guarantee is that they will not be alone. Jesus comes to them and calms their fears just like he calms the wind and the waves. The disciples don't yet understand the significance of it all but we are seeing more of Jesus' authority revealed. His authority over all of life and all of nature begins to hint that he is truly "God with us".

For Reflection:
- What storms in your life feel overwhelming right now?
- How do Jesus’ presence and his words, “Take courage! I am here!,” speak into your current circumstances?
- Pastor Dave spoke about the need to find the right balance between "being good news" and "sharing the good news about Jesus." What are you thoughts on that balance?
- Prayer: Lord Jesus, meet me in the storm and strengthen my trust in your presence and power.
