The Flagship: How Sam Ehlinger could make College Football history, special guest appearance from Longhorn Legend Eric Metcalf

With so much uncertainty leading up to the 2020 College Football season, one thing is for sure for Texas: The Longhorns have a solid QB leading the way. Senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger approaches his final season on the Forty Acres and could be poised to lead his team to the top of the sport in 2020. Ehlinger has proven to be a leader both on and off the field, and has come through in the clutch for Texas since he arrived on campus. But still, Ehlinger remains behind some other QBs in college football in the way-too-early Heisman odds race. But another solid year could change that for the Texas QB.In this week's episode of The Flagship Podcast, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes break down Ehlinger's trajectory entering his senior year at Texas, including the possibility of reaching a major milestone among College Football QBs.The Flagship then welcomes in a very special guest in Longhorn Legend and 13-year NFL veteran Eric Metcalf for his take on the Longhorns and how he projects Texas under Tom Herman's watch. After Metcalf's exclusive interview, Chip and Taylor bring back the 'Love it or Leave it' segment, when they weigh in on some hot topics surrounding both Texas football and the upcoming 2020 college football season plans, including if the Longhorns are set up to produce a first-round draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, whether or not the college football season will begin as scheduled, how Ehlinger can etch his name in college football lure as both a passer and rusher and what the future holds for the 2021 recruiting class if the football season gets pushed past the first of the year.Catch all of that and much more in this week's episode of The Flagship Podcast. The Flagship Podcast — featuring co-hosts Chip Brown and Taylor Estes with Horns247 publisher Bobby Burton as a frequent contributor — hits the airwaves each Wednesday, and centers around all the latest happenings surrounding the University of Texas and college athletics, with big-name guests joining the show on a weekly basis. The Flagship is available on a multitude of platforms — including iTunes/Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Google Podcasts — so make sure to subscribe to the Horns247 podcast channel on all platforms to have the latest episodes available to you at all times, and head on over to iTunes and give our Horns247 family of podcasts a five-star rating!
