The Flagship: Urban Meyer talk raging like wildfire at Texas

Texas has entered its second bye week of the schedule and to say the Longhorns have some issues to straighten out would be an understatement. Fourth-year head coach Tom Herman and his team are at a crossroads right now after the Longhorns lost back-to-back conference games to TCU and Oklahoma to enter the bye week with a .500 record, and 1-2 in Big 12 Conference play.At a school like Texas, this consistent level of inconsistent play has led to a spike in coaching change talk in Year 4 of the Herman era with one name being mentioned as a replacement: Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer. On this week's interview edition of The Flagship Podcast, long-time Ohio State beat reporter Bruce Hooley joins the show for an in-depth look at all Meyer has to offer as a head coach if the time were to come for the Longhorns to make a coaching change. After covering Meyer extensively during his time in Columbus, Hooley delivers the good, bad and ugly about the former Buckeyes' head coach, and how Meyer's burning desire to win has led to him finding success at major universities as a head coach.Catch all of that and more on this week's interview edition of The Flagship Podcast. The Flagship Podcast — featuring co-hosts, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes — hits the airwaves multiple times every week, and centers around all the latest happenings surrounding the University of Texas and college athletics, with big-name guests joining the show on a weekly basis.NOTE: SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR THE 2020 TEXAS FOOTBALL SEASONChip and Taylor’s weekly commentary of The Flagship will continue to air every Wednesday, both as an audio version and available on video over at the 247Sports YouTube page, however, Monday’s interview show will now run every Thursday as Texas makes its way through the 2020 college football season.
