Lillie Keenan - Practical Horseman Podcast

From Horse Radio Network All Shows Feed Horse Radio Network

This week’s Practical Horseman Podcast episode, sponsored by Tribute Equine Nutrition, is with show jumper Lillie Keenan. We spoke with Lillie in late September not long after she and longtime partner Fasther came in second in the $5 million CKPC International Grand Prix at the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters.’

To give you a little more background on Lillie, she started riding at age 6 and had a hugely successful junior career with numerous top results in the equitation, hunter, and jumper rings. Lillie shifted her focus to the jumper ring and has become a consistent performer for the U.S. Jumping Team, helping contribute to Nations Cup wins in Aachen, Dublin, Ocala, and Rome—just to name a few. She and Supersox helped the U.S. earn team bronze at the 2016 FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final. Fast forward to 2026, she made her second FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final appearance, finishing 10th with Kick On, and her second FEI Jumping World Championship appearance, with the U.S. finishing just off the podium in fourth place.

In our discussion, Lillie talks about some influential horses of her career thus far, handling disappointment and show nerves, her training philosophy, what makes a good horseperson, and more.
