What is hypnobirthing?

My second son was born last week, so I'm going to share a podcast episode from 2024 that touches on the subject of childbirth.

Not only is it related, but it's something my wife and I researched during her first pregnancy.

Hypnobirthing.

The word sounds a bit "woo-woo", which is unfortunate, but it really just means staying in control of your mind during birth. The trouble is that childbirth has been captured by the medical industry over the last century, and fear has become the driving force behind what is an entirely natural process. No mammal goes to hospital in labour, so why do humans?

Fear and money. Not the wellbeing of mother and baby.
