Recruiting Expert Thinks On3 Ranked Byrum Brown Too Low

Auburn Tigers aim to shake up the SEC with new quarterback Byrum Brown, but are national rankings underrating his impact? Questions swirl as Brown, a 3,000-yard passer and 1,000-yard rusher last season at South Florida, faces skepticism about his fit and ceiling in the conference. Hosts Zac Blackerby and Brian Smith challenge the logic behind on3's eighth-place QB ranking, noting Brown’s size, knowledge of the offense, and potential to be the league’s most consistent third-down threat. Key conversations focus on Auburn’s revamped offensive line, strong running back room, and changes needed to improve last year’s poor third-down conversion rate. The hosts debate whether Auburn will have the better quarterback in most matchups this season and what that could mean for win totals and bowl eligibility. Can Byrum Brown’s dual-threat ability and familiarity with his new weapons push Auburn into contention—and silence the doubters?
