Chiefs’ Depth SHAKEN as Rookies FIGHT for Critical Backup Spots—Will It Be ENOUGH?

Kansas City Chiefs face major defensive shakeups as training camp looms—can new faces and depth signings fill gaps left by the departures of Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson? With questions swirling around the secondary, the battle for safety spots heats up between Alohi Gilman, Chamarri Connor, and Jaden Hicks, while Chris Roland-Wallace’s versatility at both safety and nickel corner could prove critical. The conversation explores the linebacker mix led by Drew Tranquill and Nick Bolton, the special teams value of Jack Cochran, and the potential rise of rookies like Jeff Bassa and Cooper McDonald. Up front, Chris Jones anchors a defensive line with big question marks behind starter Khyiris Tonga and promising Ashton Gillotte, with camp injuries to Omar Norman-Lott and potential additions at defensive tackle fueling ongoing uncertainty. Will the Chiefs’ retooled defense withstand AFC rivals and position Kansas City for another deep postseason run? Join our Everydayer Club at lockedonchiefs.supercast.com!
