PAY THE MAN | Dolphins' 2026 Offseason Plans Should Include A Contract Extension For Star RB De'Von Achane

The Miami Dolphins must prep for a franchise-altering decision as De'Von Achane's breakout season puts him at the center of extension talks. Can the Dolphins’ new general manager craft a deal that balances cap management and rewarding elite homegrown talent, or will Achane’s value soar past reason as the 2026 salary cap climbs? Kyle Crabbs explores every contract layer, comparing Achane’s sudden rise to the league’s top running backs like Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, and Jonathan Taylor. The discussion highlights Achane’s explosive running style, his rare AFC Offensive Player of the Month honor, and the role of Miami’s evolving run-first offense under Mike McDaniel. With names like Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson potentially shaking the market, the stakes for locking in Achane have never been higher. Will Miami set a new standard for running back contracts or risk losing their backfield dynamo?
