Everybody Talks Perkins. Watch Echoles. | Ole Miss vs Louisville Week 1

Steven Willis joined the Can't Miss Matchup segment to preview the only game between two ranked teams this weekend — and gave the scouting report on Will Echoles that nobody in the national media has. Two days to kickoff. No. 9 Ole Miss vs No. 24 Louisville at Nissan Stadium, 7:30 ET Sunday night on ABC. ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 [FILL FROM CASTMAGIC AFTER RECORDING] 📌 THREE THINGS 1. Will Echoles is the name to know. He's from Houston, Mississippi, found as a low three-star by defensive line coach Randall Joyner, and he'd grown into a near five-star by the time he signed. Last season he led all Power 4 defensive tackles in quarterback pressures with 4.5 sacks — and the expectation here is 7 to 8 this year from a three-technique. 2. Why the defense is the story. The transfer portal spending at Ole Miss had been running roughly 70-30 toward offense. This year the money went to a Power 4 safety and two Power 4 corners rather than lower-ceiling depth — Edwin Joseph from Florida State, Joenel Aguero from Georgia and Shareef Denson from Florida. 3. Trinidad Chambliss has the right mental makeup for this. He isn't the type to read his own press clippings. He's still the Division II guy, which means he always has something to prove — and that's the version of him that showed up in the Superdome against Georgia. Plus why this is the best running back matchup of the entire season, and a preview of a Sunday night with nothing else on. 🦈 EVERYDAYER CLUB — Locked On Ole Miss ad-free, plus members-only Discord. 7-day free trial: https://lockedonolemiss.supercast.com 🌐 THE OLE MISS HUB — https://olemisshub.com 💬 THE LOOM PRIVATE DISCORD, FREE — https://discord.gg/KF3dtcQJhC 🎧 EVERY PLATFORM — https://link.chtbl.com/LOOleMiss?sid=YouTube Locked On Ole Miss is part of the Locked On Podcast Network — your team, every day. #OleMiss #HottyToddy #OleMissFootball #SEC #CollegeFootball
