RED SOX POSTCAST- Richard Fitts Gives Up 6 in the 1st & Red Sox Comeback Falls Short
The Red Sox (29-33) returned to Fenway Monday night and dropped the opener, 7-6, against the Los Angeles Angels. The Red Sox were down 6-0 after the 1st inning and got to within a run twice but could not tie or go in front against the Angels, who hit 4 Home Runs in the opener. The 4 Home Runs allowed tied a season-high allowed by the Red Sox pitching staff (4 HR allowed in 16-1 road loss to the Rays on April 14). ----- Rough 1 for Fitts: Richard Fitts lasted only 1 Inning in making his 5th start of the season Monday night at Fenway Park. Zach Neto led off the game with a Home Run for the Angels. Later in the inning, Mike Trout added a 3-run Home Run and Jo Adell added another solo shot to cap the 6-run 1st. The Red Sox are now (0-8) in his 1st 8 Big League starts. 9-23 10+ K. 20-10 when they have less than 10. -----
