James van Riemsdyk headlines a quiet day 1 of free agency for the Detroit Red Wings

Most of the leagues top free agents didn't make it to noon on July 1st. Meaning rather than overpay for a mediocre player, Detroit opted for several cheap depth players to help the team on the fringes. That's fine and acceptable. BUT, missing on K'Andre Miller will hurt as the defender would have really helped Detroit now. #LGRW
