New Orleans Saints Brandon Staley FINALLY REDEFINES team prototypes at defensive end

New Orleans Saints' new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley represents much need change for the defense, including shifting roles and prototypes at edge rusher. With the success of Leonard Floyrd, Khalil Mack and other speedier edge rushers, the Saints should expect to incorporate smaller prototypes and standup, athletic edge rushers in the defense in 2025. Making NFL Draft picks like James Pearce Jr., Mike Green, Jalon Walker, and Donovan Ezeiruaku all viable selections. Alontae Taylor, Kool-Aid McKinstry and Tyrann Mathieu will all see their games change, ideally for the better, under Staley. And defensive line questions around Khalen Saunders, Nathan Shepherd, Cameron Jordan, Bryan Bresee and others are all looming large.
