Nightmare weekend against floundering Oakland and a conversation with Joey Wiemer (06.11.2023)

The Oakland Athletics came into Milwaukee with a 14-50 record and left with three wins, a sobering finish to a chilly 2-5 week that has knocked the Brewers from atop the National League Central and again spotlighted the offense's lack of production. Brewers reporter Todd Rosiak joins host JR Radcliffe to discuss the brutal turn of events and inability to score runs against easily the league's worst pitching staff. On the bright side, Joey Wiemer, Julio Teheran and Corbin Burnes all had strong performances. Jesse Winker and Sal Frelick both begin rehab appearances, and Milwaukee welcomes back regulars Luis Urias and Willy Adames. Remembrew When looks back at a time when a bad Brewers team turned the tables on a playoff contender, and the guys discuss whether this team should be trade-deadline sellers during Todd's Take of the Week.

Then, JR chats with Wiemer (43:00), who's been on a hot streak. The rookie centerfielder talks about his unlikely path to MLB center fielder, his football background and his soft spot for mullets. Also, hear from Lucas Erceg (50:30), the former Brewers minor leaguer traded to Oakland in May who came back to deliver two scoreless outings in the series.
