Where It All Began

Zoinks! The gang is going back to where it all started.

Three years ago, two brothers sat down in front of a microphone with nothing but a shared love of mysteries and a beat-up Tesla they called the Mystery Machine. Episode 1 was raw, unpolished, and absolutely chaotic—and now it's been remastered for a whole new generation of mystery lovers to experience.

This special throwback episode takes us deep into the Appalachian Mountains, where locals have whispered for generations about things that live in the caves. Not bears. Not mountain lions. Something else entirely. The witnesses describe creatures that shouldn't exist, sounds that echo from underground passages, and encounters that left hardened outdoorsmen refusing to return to certain hollows. What's lurking in those ancient cave systems? The gang dives into the folklore, the sightings, and the geological oddities that might explain—or deepen—the mystery.

But that's only half of this wild ride.

The episode takes a sharp turn into true crime territory with the disturbing case of Jared Fogle, the former Subway spokesperson whose carefully constructed public image hid something far darker. This isn't just a retelling of headlines. One of the hosts reveals a personal encounter with Fogle before the world knew what he really was—a moment that hits differently knowing what we know now.

This remastered version cleans up the audio quality while preserving everything that made the original Episode 1 special: the unscripted energy, the genuine reactions, and the chemistry between Shane and Josh that would become the foundation of The Haunted Bunker. It's a time capsule and a celebration rolled into one.

Whether you've been with the gang since day one or you're discovering us for the first time, this episode shows exactly what The Haunted Bunker is all about—strange creatures, disturbing crimes, personal stories, and two brothers who aren't afraid to go wherever the mystery leads.

The trail leads back to 2022, but the questions remain unanswered.
