In Tonight’s Episode of Paranormal Mysteries...

A few days ago I came across a couple of interesting articles that I thought would be fitting for this Halloween night. It was posted back in 2019 on Mysterious Universe, which I’ve included a link to in the show notes. It focuses on a handful of cases where the eyewitnesses came in contact with something beyond rational explanation, and each of these encounters occurred in or near a cornfield.

Now, I’m someone that grew up in the Midwest of the United States, so for me, cornfields are something that I am accustomed to seeing, and on occasion, I’ve even played in some as a child. But I will say, that there is something about them that is mysterious, and sometimes even unsettling. Sure, there are lots of horror movies that depict cornfields as being the perfect place for creatures to lie in wait, but if I’m being honest, I used to think the creepiest thing about them was that once you step inside a fully grown cornfield, your ability to see what’s around you diminishes almost instantly. It’s almost disorienting if you’re not used to walking through them, and it’s easy to feel trapped.

As I’ve got older though, I’ve come to question almost everything that I thought I knew about the world, and now, I feel like I’d be remiss to assume that any location is devoid of high strangeness. Especially one that would be a perfect hiding spot for something that doesn’t want to be detected. And this brings us to tonight’s articles, and the testimonies within.
