They win game six two first timers in the World Series. Yep 3:15 Love that potential first-time champions. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they've no neither team has won it the rays have been to the world series recently 3:22 Yep, the burrs 1982 3:25 That was actually great showing by the TROP. Let's let's give them some credit the TROP showed up 3:30 Max you agree 3:32 Yeah, the TROP the TROP was bumping they kind of had I 3:35 Was feeling the vibes from the TROP last night and they kind of swayed me 3:39 Yeah, junior Caminero huge home run Freddy Peralta has been incredible 3:43 Remember we had Anthony Rizzo on the show a couple weeks ago the things that he said to us 3:48 He said if you're a hitter go to Los Angeles if you're a pitcher go to Tampa Freddy Peralta is a shining example of that 3:55 They I saw someone comment on it that you know Freddy Peralta was bad for the Mets this year 4:01 He gets traded to the rays 4:02 They tell him to throw more change-ups. They move where he plays or where he pitches from in terms of on the rubber 4:08 He's closer to third base. He's pitching out of the stretch 4:11 He's been one of the best pitchers in the last six weeks including the playoffs and the rays feel they feel game 4:18 This feels like a fun world series. Well, it's also a coordination of nerd culture 4:23 Oh, yeah, baseball because it I talked about this when the Brewers advanced 4:26 But the two teams share a lot of commonality in the front office. Yeah, they've like gone back forth 4:30 There's guys that have played that have been on on it on each team over the past 10 years analytics 4:35 Played analytics. Yeah, they played spreadsheet. They've got some of the best 4:39 Battleship. Yeah guys. Yeah, so but it is gonna be small ball. We're gonna see some small ball 4:45 We're gonna see a lot of like directional hitting. We're gonna see steals. We're gonna see bumping 4:51 So it's gonna be a fun world series. I think for sure 4:53 Have we reached closure on the brass ticket the forever ticket did the Brewers end up doing the right thing on that? 5:01 I think they didn't they did not do the right thing on it 5:04 I think they very important did give tickets, but I think their version of the right thing the tickets are in like the 5:09 400 that's what it is. So they're not thousand dollar tickets 5:12 So they're giving them the ticket well take I think they technically are thousand dollar tickets in the 5:16 What the resale market is not the right thing they're there they're they're like doing what they legally have to do 5:23 But I wouldn't say it's the right. I don't like that 5:26 Yeah, I agree like if you buy that ticket 5:28 it thinking they get to the World Series like they're 5:31 and then they're like, oh, shit, we got to give them. 5:33 Yeah, no, they got, they got, they got like their pants down. 5:36 They think they were in the midst of a six losing seasons 5:39 and they're like, no way will we go to the World Series. 5:41 And they're like, we won't have to read. 5:43 They're Scott's Tots. 5:44 They Scott's Totted this. 5:46 They're scammed by on the technicality 5:48 of the resell market is looking like it's over $1,000. 5:51 And I think everybody actually bought the tickets 5:53 that you could buy for $1,000 from the team. 5:57 So that to me, I don't know feels like they might be opening themselves up to a lawsuit and also maybe 6:03 It's a curse 6:04 Big-time curse for the so so back to the ALCS. I feel like the Guardians kind of just ran out of gas it was a 6:13 Herculean effort to come back from down to oh against the white socks. You could see it Gavin Williams 6:19 There's their ace pitches game five against the white socks. He only pitches once in the ALCS. That's brutal 6:25 the, you know, his velocity was down, 6:28 Messick looked like he was getting tired. 6:30 They just ran out of gas. 6:32 They tried to guard ball it. 6:33 The Rays were the better team overall. 6:36 I'm excited for this World Series. 6:37 I think it's, I think it's gonna be good. 6:40 Like, I think the Rays have a weird, 6:44 their bullpen isn't the best until they get to Baker, 6:47 but they do have starting pitching. 6:49 Like Rasmussen has been insane. 6:51 Freddie Peralta has been insane. 6:53 And it's like, they are very similar teams 6:55 that they both put pressure on each other. 6:57 Like the Rays will be able to score and manufacture things 7:02 unlike the Dodgers being like, 7:04 hey, if we're not hitting, we're just not hitting. 7:06 So, and the Brewers do the same thing. 7:08 It's gonna be fun. 7:09 Did you see Kim and Aaron's home run last night? 7:11 How long it took them to round the bases? 7:12 Yeah, I thought it was too long. 7:14 You thought that was too long? 7:15 Max and I have had a disagreement. 7:16 We did wake up Barcell today. 7:18 I was at 35 seconds. 7:19 38. 38 seconds to go around the bases. 7:22 I think in that moment, 7:26 in that moment you can go a little bit. 7:30 Okay, here's my you can go a little bit faster in this situation. That's crazy. Here's my arguments if it's a walkoff 7:36 Yeah, here's my argument PFT 7:39 Against cuz I do love bat flips and I think big moments should be celebrated 7:43 My issue is and this goes for contraris too. It's double and Acunya did this as well 7:50 It's you can only stop once you can't stop twice 7:54 He stopped going to first base. 7:57 And then he stopped and did the Randy Rosarana, 7:59 to a Randy Rosarana right before home play. 8:02 You get one stop, you get one stop. 8:05 Your Rosarana was cool though. 8:06 It was, but then don't use the stop. 8:08 I think it's just ridiculous. 8:10 Like it's a home run trot. 8:11 One stop is fine. 8:13 And that's my problem with like a Kunya 8:14 when he stops at shortstop and like turns around 8:18 and then stops again. 8:19 You know what? 8:19 It's like you get one stop. 8:20 It should be, if you take more than one stop, 8:23 Second one counts as a man a mound visit. Well, I don't you can't use that anymore 8:27 My my dumb my my Mike Greenberg's dumb rules was every position player 8:33 Has a baseball in their back pocket 8:35 And if there's a shot clock once you hit a home run and it's 35 seconds 8:40 And if you go over 35 seconds everyone can throw it at you 8:42 Yeah, so like the catcher can literally be in you from like two feet away get beat 8:46 I think it should count as a mound visit or an ABS challenge 8:49 Mm-hmm. So it should caught if it takes longer 8:52 Let's say 30 seconds because at that point I have to assume that you're injured if you can't get around the bases in 30 seconds 8:58 I loved it. I thought it was great 9:01 It made it a little exciting and in a matchup that you know wasn't the most exciting matchup 9:06 The most exciting part of the game was how long it took this guy to go around the bases 9:11 Which is a sad? 9:14 Yeah, well was a home run. Yes, I think I listen. I like it too and I think that if you're 9:18 If you're the guardians if you hit a home run after that then you should be entitled to take twice as long 9:24 You should actually get to like 9:27 Legitimately put your you should get to Bronco bus the first basement. Yeah crotch in face 9:32 Yeah, I kids got to get home for school and I have one gripe with it 9:37 If you're gonna do the chest the chest pound that he did before first base 9:42 It can't be a wall scraper like that. Yeah, gotta hit a bomb. Yeah, because that's like 9:48 Whoa, whoa, hey Scott. Oh, that was a Hank was sort of a big-time face. I mean he didn't even get a barrel on it 9:54 Like it was a great it was a good piece of hitting but like there's something about the the chat that the chest punch 10:00 That it's a home run in the fucking send your teeth in the world series, dude 10:05 No, I still a home run. I fought I fought against big cat against 10:09 I fought against big cat on this hard this morning and I loved it and I did think it was great 10:14 But it was a wall scraper it barely got out 10:18 I I haven't looked at the the stat tracks or whatever they call it 10:22 But I'm sure that's a Homer and like three ball but the moment it's less than me 10:28 About how how monster of a dong it was and more about what the moment looked the moment was big 10:32 But I agree it thirty thirty eight seconds thirty eight thirty eight seconds is too long again 10:37 It's goes to like I I'm cool with everything except 10:41 Stopping dead in your tracks twice 10:44 I think they should make it like chess where each team has a certain amount of seconds per game 10:50 Guys run and then you're you know you're you're in the eighth inning and it's like you got 60 seconds on the clock 10:55 You can take your time. I love that idea 10:57 That's such a good idea. Hey cuz then you're like, oh shit 11:00 It won't count as a home run if if you have 60 seconds and 11:04 Junior Camero takes 38 and then you hit another one that takes 15 and now you have to sprint to have a count 11:10 Yeah, that's a good call. That's a really good call 11:13 All right. So yeah, congrats to the raise also yeti Diaz calling a shot. That was cool 11:19 He's like, yeah, we're gonna we're gonna finish it out and they did a homerun like that was 11:23 That we need more guarantees like that people 11:26 I know that probably people weren't like thinking it was the most high-stakes things it wasn't a game 7 11:31 But still to say that and then back it up max is right home run in 3 out of 30 parks. Wow. Oh 4 11:39 Four that one says no three. Oh, okay. See I thought it was Houston 11:46 Yankees Tampa Wow max a ball nor damn Mickey Mouse parks damn 11:52 All right, so you're back on our side Max. No, I'm not. I still think that it was cool 11:57 I just I would like the Jose Batista was such a bomb. Yeah, and then yeah, yeah, and I back flips are my favorite 12:05 I actually love bathrooms. I think when the the change we've made where it's like 12:10 We've almost lost the bat flip and gone to just home run trot pimping 12:14 I would prefer bat flips to be ridiculous. I want guys launching their bats. I want them doing tricks on their bats 12:21 I want them riding their bats like a pogo stick. Yeah, right like like a witch in a broom 12:26 Once you start your trot, just do your trot. One more thing about that game. Yandy Diaz deserves credit 12:31 I just said that you were you 12:32 Okay, yeah, I was looking at the trying to figure out if that was the number. Yes, it's rare for guys to 12:37 Be able to like just confidently say you we're gonna win this game and then win it and they also produce in that 12:43 What you did with the home run seal the game. Yeah 12:47 Guards are just the same 12:50 Again, they're consistently in the playoffs 12:53 They're like small market Yankees who congrats Yankees fans bring back Aaron Boone huge news 12:58 Yeah, I said you got it 12:59 You almost have to extend them. 13:00 My problem with Aaron Boone was that you need, 13:02 the guys around him have to have confidence 13:04 that their manager's going to be there. 13:06 Yeah. 13:06 And now that they know that he will, 13:08 I feel like now is the time 13:09 when Aaron Boone's system really takes off. 13:12 Continuity's important. 13:13 Yes. 13:14 They treat Yankees, they treat Yankees players 13:18 as like old dogs where it's like, we can't move. 13:23 This old dog can't take this move. 13:25 The surroundings have to stay the same. 13:27 You need you need consistency and more more than anything. What is the Yankees organization class? Yeah, Aaron Boone class act class 13:35 Classy guy. He loses with class. He does. That's a fact. Mm-hmm. If you want it, would you rather win? 13:42 As a scoundrel or lose with class. Oh lose a class. Oh, that's what sports is about 13:46 Yeah, you got to be able to lose with class and he's the classiest loser there is. Yep 13:51 He's really good at it. I think we can agree probably the league MVP right now the season ended today 15:26 Yes, Brock party MVP. He looked awesome until 49ers 15:31 Absolutely, it looks awesome in the first. Yeah. No, Mike Evans going out was was significant and I also I don't 15:38 Fully understand playing Mike Evans when he has to stretch in between each play to keep his Achilles warm 15:44 Yeah. So I don't know what's going up. That's like Achilles tendonitis. And if that's something 15:48 that's going to get better, if you expect it to get better right now, if he has to go over to 15:51 Italy, wherever Christian McAfrey was, when he was considering retiring per the walls at 15:55 Bursal Sports and get like whatever weird platelet injection that he got. But it doesn't 16:01 seem like a good idea to have his like he shouldn't have been playing at all last night. 16:05 I think no, if that's what it was going to look like. He's awesome when he does play. 16:09 But yeah, the 49ers are I think the best team in football. Yeah. I don't think that's 16:14 controversial to say. I think Brock Purdy right now is the league MVP. 16:18 Yeah, I'd agree. And it's it is kind of crazy to look at it through a third of the season. 16:23 The Niners have a three game lead in the NFC West, which we all thought was going to be 16:28 the most competitive. And they not only they have a three game lead, they're three and 16:31 oh in the division. Yeah. So this does look like and they're they're defense that those 16:37 two plays by Mustafa at the end of the game, incredible, phenomenal, incredible plays. 16:41 Yeah, and then Fred Warner just just dominating people physically. Yeah, and kiddles the man. Yeah, Fred Warner was just just like 16:53 Diving at people's heads. He was head on in the referees were like, well, he just complained so hard the rest are like, oh my god 16:58 Don't don't hurt us. Yeah, please. All right. No no foul on the play for just diving into a guy's skull 17:03 The rest like well green law we kicked we suspended him for a week. So I guess he's not headbutting somebody. Yeah, that's okay 17:09 Yeah, let's let boys will be boys Fred. Yeah, but by the way, it is awesome to watch him play 17:14 Like Fred Warner is legitimately like an insane talent physical freak and he plays with and he's such a nice guy 17:22 Like face-to-face the nicest like most yeah, we love to have him on 17:26 He's like the calmest dude and then he gets on the field and he's like I want to murder everybody that I see mm-hmm 17:31 Is that it for the recap? Yeah, I'm correct to the 49ers great football team outstanding football team 17:36 Do we have what? Hey you got a question? No go for a question. I mean there is some do you want to open it's a question top 17:42 I do I do can I start with a question? Yeah, yeah, of course to yourself 17:46 With the Eagles trying to get Jalen Hertz killed. Oh 17:50 With the blood clots. Yeah, it's good question. What's going on? We're on Monday night football talk right now 17:54 I think I have a statement. I would like to have somebody's life is more important than a game 18:00 Well, we're currently talking about the game, but some things are bigger than the game 18:05 well we could have we could have led with that instead but instead we were 18:10 talking about we should have actually led with NBA opening night as a fan of 18:12 humans just humanity in general I'm a humanist you guys know me I've been very 18:17 clear about that yep I want to make sure that everybody's okay I want to 18:20 make sure that the commanders know that there's four about about another 18:23 first yeah it was the old Tom Brady you learn that from Tom remember that 18:30 one we're gonna held up he held up like four and he was confused as it's 18:34 Soldier field. Yeah, so like, yeah, that happens to the great ones. I would say it only happens to the great ones 18:40 We're in a prime-time game. You forget. Well, that's Dan Quinn. Maybe what Dan was 18:44 That was the player not the quarterback. Dan Quinn was very clear after the game. He said I definitely knew it was fourth down 18:55 So it's like my my I definitely knew it was fourth down shirt is raising a lot of questions from people 19:00 Well, that are already answered by my shirt. 19:02 Yeah. 19:02 Dan Quinn for the record definitely knew his fourth down 19:05 and in no way shape or form could he have admitted 19:08 that he didn't know what down it was 19:09 because then he would be immediately fired 19:11 and probably just put on a boat 19:14 and driven out to Alcatraz 19:15 and not let on the plane back home 19:18 if he said, yeah, I didn't know what down it was. 19:19 So do we blame Dan Quinn or Jayden Daniels? 19:21 I think it's, again, it's 100% both their fault. 19:24 Jayden Daniels has to know there's guys 19:25 on the sideline that are holding up sticks. 19:28 Yeah. 19:28 That's say four. 19:29 It's number four on them. There's lights all over the stadium that say the number four on them also 19:34 Just maybe like a memory 19:35 How many plays have we yeah, how many have we done the only possible 19:39 Explanation and if you want that whole play was it reminds the more things change in DC the more they're exactly the same as 19:46 They were 10 years ago and 20 years ago and 25 years ago and 30 years ago 19:51 It's always the same that play was so fucking funny when you watch it back fourth and two 19:57 Jaden rolls out to his right there is a pre snap penalty which yeah no shit 20:02 because we get like seven of those a game it's crazy how many pre snap 20:05 penalties we've had and then Jaden rolls out to his right and then throws the ball 20:10 out of bounds well out of bounds and sourdough Sam the mascot for the 20:15 Niners makes a fucking hell of a catch yeah look at this catch Max can you 20:19 can you maximize that video look at this grab that the mascot made on this 20:23 pass yeah take it a little bit further back cross body cross body take a little 20:30 bit further back it showed in real-time match match yeah it's look at that grab 20:35 just like perfect man and you can't do that eyes on it you gotta you gotta give 20:40 your guys a chance funny point number one about the play funny point number two 20:44 about the play is the camera naturally pans over to Jaden Daniels right 20:49 afterwards. All smiles from Jaden because he see that was funny. 20:53 He acknowledges like you guys see sourdough sand make that 20:56 catch pretty funny stuff on guys and then the camera pans 20:59 over to Fred Warner and Fred Warner's like hey dude that was 21:02 fourth down and Jaden's like really and then it goes to 21:05 Dan Quinn and Dan Quinn goes field goal. Let's get the field 21:08 goal. What what that was fourth down. Yeah. As Jaden's 21:12 walking past him and then Dan Quinn starts to freak out 21:14 afterwards because he understands how bad this whole 21:17 situation. And the only possible explanation from this was that Jaden saw the flag and thought 21:25 it was offside's free play. In that case still try to throw it for a touchdown. Don't throw 21:30 the ball out of bounds. It's a free play for a reason. It just got awful shit from the 21:36 commanders in the first half. That was one of those ones where it was like this is 21:40 this is I've seen this so many times the exact same vibes of the swinging gate from 21:46 Jim Zorn on Monday night football against the Giants. This is about to get worse. It's 21:50 going to get worse. And then what does that motherfucker Dan Quinn do at halftime? Somehow 21:55 he pulls the team together and they go out and they play with their hair on fire and 21:58 they come back and they almost win. And I don't think that it saved his job. I think 22:04 Dan Quinn's probably still fired this week. And rightfully so. Oh, this week. Yeah. 22:08 Oh, you have a body week. Yeah, I forgot about the body. I think it might be 22:11 midweek firing. I think that Josh Harris told Dan Quinn that he should start wearing his hat 22:17 forwards in their last come to Jesus meeting that they had. And so Dan Quinn goes out there 22:23 hat forwards trying to look professional. The same shit just keeps happening. Really bad job 22:29 by the coaching staff. Really bad job by Jaden Daniels on that play. And then they come back 22:34 and they almost win the second after you're like this is the most infuriating thing that I've 22:38 seen. What was your question Hank? I don't have a question I have more of a 22:42 statement because like obviously you know PFT is pretty pretty mean towards 22:45 Drake May and Patriots fans get riled up. I don't I don't view our 22:49 relationship as... I bet I bet a lot of money on the Patriots to win the Superbowl. 22:55 Yeah you did exactly that's what I'm saying I'm on your side I'm I'm 22:57 completely... I also bet on Drake May to beat the bills the other week. Yeah 23:00 great pick. Again like I said we're on the same team but a lot of 23:05 people were like tagging me this tweet saying Jane Daniels is only one 23:08 two games since his rookie season. 23:10 Yeah. 23:10 And his last win was a starter came in October 5th, 2025. 23:13 So that was two years ago. 23:16 Jane Daniels played unbelievable in the second half. 23:18 Wait, his last win came what? 23:19 October 5th, 2025, last year. 23:21 He's 07 and 1 in games he started the last eight games. 23:24 He and people were like, oh my god, so much bad tape, 23:27 pen tape, watch, like, get out there. 23:29 Jane Daniels played out of his mind 23:32 like in the second half. 23:33 He was unbelievable. 23:35 Yeah, that's what's so. 23:36 I would be excited. 23:37 I like I think they did save a job. I think Dan Quinn did save no fuck Dan Quinn 23:42 He like for him to not know what down it was. It's it's 23:45 Inexcusable like coming off a week where he had the big question 23:49 Is there only thing anybody ever talked about for the but he said he knew what down it was there a chance no direction 23:54 He said I definitely knew can I ask is there is there a chance that he? 23:59 Didn't know he got confused because of the throw away on 24:03 on what down it was I think more than no one would ever throw it away on 4th and 2 24:08 No, because he's also like he's in the headset comms before that play 24:11 Yeah, he's got to know what went down it way 24:14 You can't if you're if you're a head coach and your quarterback throws away on 4th and 2 24:17 You need to be yelling at your quarterback 24:19 Yeah, if you also knew that it was 3rd. I think it's confused. It's like wait 24:23 We obviously have another down because he threw it a competent head coach would say what the fuck are you doing? That's 4th down 24:29 Whatever the problem is it's everyone's fault. Jaden has to know really shitty play on his part really shitty job 24:35 And I shockingly Dan Quinn's biggest adjustment over the last week besides turning the hat around. I forgot 24:42 I did not report this on Sunday 24:44 He's making David Blau stand slightly closer to him on the sidelines. That's smart. That was the other thing 24:49 That's really that Dan Quinn installed as a change 24:52 So then Hank yes to answer your question Jaden played great in the second half and he's played great football this year 24:58 We have not won games. I don't think outside of like brain farts and what happened at the end in the very last play against the judge 25:05 It's like 25:06 He's so good and the sea ox. He almost beat the 49ers. Yeah, and then in one moment 25:11 He's so bad and you should have I mean you beat the Giants 25:14 It's it's like you buy it you buy beachfront property, but it's on the Bikini Islands and there's radiation everywhere 25:21 So there's a beautiful. I'm living in tropical paradise and it's perfect except for the fact that 25:27 there's an atomic bomb buried underneath my dick. 25:30 So I don't know, he played so good in the second half too. 25:34 He played really, really good, good enough to come back 25:36 and win. 25:38 We were right in the game, bad luck on a holding call 25:40 that brought back the touchdown 25:41 that would have put us ahead. 25:43 But yeah, it was, it's so frustrating 25:45 because he's so good and he plays so well 25:49 but then the one mistake that he makes, 25:51 it is like just soul crushing. 25:54 But then he I mean credit to him he came back played awesome in the second half and 25:58 There would they don't almost run out of time and to end the game again 26:01 I will say I'm gonna back up the greatest ending of all it would have been yeah 26:05 I'll back up in central grounding. I'll back up Jaden Daniels on the attentional grounding 26:09 I actually think he had that's a OC problem because there's no underneath round. Yeah, and if he throws that deep and 26:17 Like everyone had like it just was a shit show 26:20 He couldn't throw it deep because he was basically getting chased. 26:23 If he takes a sack, everyone has to come back. 26:26 It probably is more than 10 seconds to get the next playoff. 26:29 So that one is that one. 26:30 I had no problem. 26:32 Yes, that one was everyone was like, I can't take an intentional grounding. 26:36 Yeah, I actually do think that was where I play. 26:38 In fact, I was I was defending my guy last night. 26:42 I got Aaron hit me up after the game and he goes big mistake. 26:50 Another big mistake in a close game. 26:52 because might be bad PFT and I said he takes that sack there and it's game over 26:56 just like last week and he said he sucks he sucks fam you sound like a 27:01 delusional partner whose girl is a hoe she just likes attention because she 27:05 never gets it and I was like I'm right about the intentional grounding you 27:08 don't know ball area yeah and in this case I'm right about that yeah other 27:13 things that you can you can say from this game that he fucked up on the 27:16 fourth and two absolutely terrible play maybe missing the underneath route on 27:21 on the on the Berks, which Berks made it. 27:24 So he tried to make a great effort there. 27:26 Even on that one. Yeah. 27:28 He wasn't open when he digs. 27:31 Yeah, digs was not open at the time 27:32 that Jaden could have thrown that ball by the time 27:34 they broke it down on the post game. 27:36 Jason McCordy broke it down and showed like here's 27:39 how when digs became open, 27:40 it was not possible to get that throw off in time. 27:43 Yeah, he still ended up putting the ball 27:44 and trailing Berks' hands. 27:46 Yeah, no, it was a hell of an effort is impossible 27:49 to try to Mustafa just made a great. 27:51 Great play again like the play on this and the play before we might be open there 27:56 No, that's right there. They broke down on like the water. Oh, okay, and he was I mean you can argue a Jason McCordy Patriots legend 28:03 Super Bowl champion 28:05 Max your film watcher. What do you think? 28:08 Got away for the all 22. I don't know. It was close. I think you can still 28:15 Don't worry about it. Thanks, Max. He's so open 28:19 he's still running he's still running you can't say that you can't say that 28:23 moves but no they did break that exact play down and at the end of the day he 28:26 put the ball and Berks his hand and Berks caught it and then Mustafa made a 28:30 great play and Mustafa made a great play to stop a first down right before 28:34 that so like that's that's making a good play and it gets beaten by a great 28:38 play I don't have a problem with any of that let's I've watched a lot of bad 28:41 ball in my life Jane Daniels not a bad ball player good ball player great 28:47 ballplayer makes it seems like a minimum of one boneheaded mistake per game. And it's like 28:54 how do you stop? How do you fix that? I don't know. But I think having competent coaches 29:00 would help. We've seen a lot of quarterbacks progress when they have competent coaching 29:05 staff around them. I think a lot of the mental stuff like that would probably get 29:10 it wouldn't get worse. It would probably get better if you had a smarter coaching 29:15 staff around him, preferably an offensive mind. And I love Dan Quinn. He does get the team to 29:20 play hard for him. His players love him. Yeah, I mean, this was the same coaching staff for 29:24 Jayden's first year. Yeah. When he was, when he played out of his mind. But yeah, head coach. 29:29 I agree. Head coach. Yeah, that was Dan Quinn. Yeah, not Cliff. Yeah. Not Cliff. 29:33 What's the big board look like? The PFT big board. Who do I want for coaches? I gotta, 29:38 I gotta put the double D the search committee back into play. Double D's is number one. 29:43 No, double D's number one number. Well, that's just because I haven't put the official. No. Okay. He's number one 29:49 But there's two number ones. They are Declan Doyle Declan Doyle's number ones OC came from Ben Johnson tied for number one OC 29:56 Quotes last year tied for number one. We've seen Josh Harris and this ownership group be able to lure mega stars 30:04 from Los Angeles 30:05 Chum McVeigh 30:09 It's coming home, but everyone knows his sometimes you got to go back. Everyone knows his system 30:14 Sometimes you gotta remember we talked about not not in the NFC East 30:19 Hmm not in the NFC East. Okay 30:22 Come home. Sean come home. You know that unfinished business in Aspern 30:26 What if they what if they had to use like shady tactics to get him to sign? Yeah, go for it 30:30 I don't think that he wouldn't because what if they had to take bets on fanatics because Michael Rubin's not in the ownership group 30:37 Oh, yeah, sure 30:39 But yeah, agreed. I think I mean not 30:43 Magic Johnson 30:45 It's time for you to start. This is your call magic. I don't know that Josh is gonna do it make the right call magic 30:51 He's embarrassing you on national television over and over again 30:56 Step in 30:57 Do you not think though like I feel like you gave up on the season at the first half? 31:03 I did mentally yeah team was that team was fighting fighting hard second talent hard 31:09 second half mentally. 31:10 They can still win the NFC. 31:12 They can still win the NFC. 31:13 They've got 100% still win the NFC. 31:14 Hank, I've seen this exact team so many times before. 31:20 And the only difference is they did, 31:21 they did fight in the second half. 31:23 There have been other seasons where it would have come out 31:26 and I did predict that it was gonna get worse and worse 31:27 and worse and worse and worse. 31:29 This actually got better as the game went on. 31:32 I think that Dan Quinn has to go 31:35 and he's a nice guy. 31:36 I don't know what happens with Dan Quinn's defenses, 31:38 by the way, because he's a great defensive coordinator. The second he takes over running 31:43 a team, the defenses get, the defense are terrible. His track record, they stopped them. The entire, 31:48 I don't know, I feel like you just did not watch the second half, but they couldn't, the 31:52 49ers couldn't do anything. They did play well defensively second half. 31:55 The problem is there's two halves. True. 31:57 But you gave up after one. That is the problem. I did give up after one. 32:02 You almost won it twice. Yeah. 32:04 The opportunity to win. We did have the opportunity to win, but Dan's got to go. 32:07 Dan, I'm sorry you're you know what Dan you seem like the kind of guy that might 32:11 Dan's got two moves number one 32:14 He could fire himself and then name himself interim head coach week to week you got to prove it every week 32:20 To he could demote himself and be co-defensive coordinator and let somebody else come in and actually run the team because Dan Quinn 32:28 He's great defensive coordinator really good guy 32:31 When he's a head coach even his specialty, which is defense 32:35 that always finishes in the bottom like bottom five bottom ten in the league 32:39 about time one that that actually I've seen it floated why not which would be 32:46 very funny yeah it would be very funny it would be tough because you make the 32:51 playoffs it would work out maybe we can win that division when you when you 32:55 wish so in this division when you wish Mike McCarthy on me I'm gonna have to 32:59 do the same and say that would be very funny if Mike Tomlin was your head 33:02 coach. Difference was you had a long rivalry. Yeah, true. But 33:06 still Mike Tomlin being like, well, we know the ceiling. 33:09 Yeah. No, it's I listen. Yes, Super Bowl. Tomlin is Tom. Well, 33:14 no, my ever since he started Minecraft. No, you'd have to get 33:18 that in the closet. No more Minecraft. It's like the Kyler 33:20 Murray deal. Yeah. Tomlin is a is a possibility for sure. I 33:24 think that a name like that would be attractive. You need 33:27 an adult. You need an adult. He's an adult and nothing. 33:30 You know your team might be in trouble if it is if it's ever said we need an adult in the room 33:35 I remember when the Bears hired John Fox. It was like we need an adult. We need adult in the building 33:39 So yeah, no, you don't you need someone who's good at coaching. Yeah, so that's that's where I'm at 33:44 I think I think I'm in a pretty realistic place 33:47 I just know that after that first half I resigned my fact myself to the fact that it's going to be one of those seasons 33:53 And if you're a fan of a loser franchise 33:55 You've you've experienced this before but it's gonna be one of those seasons where when it's all said and done 34:01 All you're going to remember it by is when you go back and you watch 34:05 Sunny styles highlights set to ante up and that gets you pumped about something 34:10 That's the only upside that I'm gonna have after this season is watching defensive highlights from our awesome rookie 34:17 You're you're you're such a like you can so in the division the NFC East is a 34:22 Yeah, I know but at the same time that might be the worst thing for us to win the NFC 34:27 Well Max is going through the same thing where it's like almost mean how gettable the NFC East is this year for the for 34:33 The jet school will be fighting for the NFC the NFC East. Oh, just would be that I would take the jets to win. Yeah 34:39 Yeah, without a doubt. You dominate. Yeah, what do you what do you guys think? What do you guys think cuz I've had this discussion with? 34:47 League circles, okay 34:50 What do you think jade and Daniels goes we had the Justin Herbert discussion? 34:53 What do you think right now jade and Daniels would go for in terms of a trade package? 34:59 The answer I've I'll wait to say the answer I've gotten back. I believe he would go for a 35:08 First singular first. No, I think you go for two. No because remember you have to pay him 35:13 So it's like different than Justin like I 35:15 I know you're already paid, but it would be 35:19 There's a chance that you would not more injured though more injured, right? That's that's the kicker 35:27 No, he's placed quarterback 35:29 No, that's not what I said. He said that's the kicker. He said he played quarterback 35:34 Because because of his arm situation and might it might be less than two first his left arm 35:39 Yeah, but it keeps breaking you you say it yourself 35:43 It's I was I might have been wrong about that because he's taken some shots the last couple weeks 35:47 And he seems to be okay, but like he's landed on the left elbow a few times you say you even saying that it's like 35:53 I'm also I'm also a worrier when it comes to my quarterbacks, and it's for good reason 35:58 It's my history. I think I've got lived trauma 36:01 I'll give you a first because I do think that the fact that you'd have to 36:05 Get a contract done and you have very short amount of time to figure it out because it's your fifth year 36:11 At least the first plus you could do the fifth year like a first and first and a second or first. Yeah. Yeah 36:16 They're obviously it wouldn't be just the first. Yeah, but I was just saying in first like maybe not too 36:20 Why wouldn't someone say the answers? I've gone back solidly. It starts like the minimum two first rounders. Okay. Yeah 36:26 I I still think but Justin Herbert then has to be three first rounders because you said he wasn't two first rounders 36:31 No, he is a fourth. No, no, but when we were having a discussion Max and I were saying Justin Herbert's at least 36:37 Two maybe three and you said no, I don't think three 36:41 But you said no to two. 36:42 So you think Gene Daniels would go for more 36:44 than Justin Herbert? 36:45 I think he might right now, yeah. 36:47 I don't know about that. 36:47 Yeah, I don't know about that. 36:48 I mean, I kind of agree with BFT. 36:50 You can watch how he played. 36:51 Okay, so his last games of football. 36:54 Granted, it was one half against the Cowboys. 36:59 And in that half, he looked good until he got injured. 37:02 I would say the second half against the Eagles 37:06 looked awesome. 37:07 And then I would say against the Giants, 37:09 he played pretty good. 37:10 until the big brain fart at the end, 37:12 which is part of it. 37:14 And then last night he played really, really good. 37:16 And he did it without even using his feet 37:18 because they had Fred Warner spying from most of the game. 37:21 So like the Niners took away a big part of his upside 37:24 and not letting him run. 37:25 And he was still really, really good. 37:27 So I would say he's probably more valuable 37:30 than Justin Herbert right now. 37:31 Agreed. 37:32 Like without a doubt. 37:33 So that's where I'm at. 37:34 He's very frustrating in your roof right now. 37:36 somebody figure it out because there's something about his brain that just it 37:42 it gets unplugged once a game and except for that one unplugging moment he's 37:48 really really good we got to flex our game PFT by the time this comes out 37:52 we'll know if it's flexed but we got a flex what is it right now Sunday night 37:56 football Sunday night football and I do it for us for podcast we don't need 38:03 Yeah, we don't need that. Well, I mean the game was entertaining last night 38:07 It was but the Eagles are 38:10 The Eagles are not you can still win that division. You can still win that division. No, you can't a game or try 38:15 You can we're like playing hot potato like no, no, we don't want it 38:18 Actually, no the Eagles Canada Monday Monday nights for everything. Yeah all the marbles 38:22 Yeah, all right speaking of the Eagles by the way history was made the NFC East first division 38:27 Yep the merger go back to back weeks without winning a single game 38:30 And now that's going to break. We think next week because the Eagles and the Cowboys have 38:35 a game, but that could be a tie. The commanders might end up getting that. We might actually 38:40 win the by week and gain ground in the division by not playing Max. Speaking of the Eagles, 38:46 Jalen Hertz out for the season blood clots. We have just like weird stories going back 38:53 and forth. First it was reported that he didn't sleep. So, Tom Pelisaro wrote like, it was kind 39:00 of a weird tweet because he was like, how much does just Jalen Hertz love football? He didn't sleep 39:05 and he had blood clots and played football. There was an awesome story. Yeah, there was a 39:10 moment on Monday morning where essentially the Eagles ruled, as we were being told, 39:17 the Eagles ruled Jalen Hertz out for sleep but ruled him in for an NFL game. 39:22 Mm-hmm was what we was essentially was I said I was like I this story doesn't feel like it makes much sense 39:28 I feel like he had to have slept we got to wait like then it comes out later that he did sleep a little 39:35 That the Eagles. I mean Siriani did a press conference. I don't know what's going on 39:39 So he did sleep a little but the I look back on it and the reports not necessarily wrong where doctors told him not to sleep and 39:47 Then later on after the night. They're like, okay, you can sleep now 39:51 But we had a, we had a beat writer. 39:53 Yeah, Jeff McLean. 39:54 Jeff McLean, the Eagles beat writer on the, on WUB this morning. 39:57 He said that he talked to some doctors. 39:59 They're like, we wouldn't, we wouldn't say don't sleep in that situation. 40:03 I don't know what's going on. 40:04 The one thing that it looks like it is that everyone's kind of just trying to save their ass. 40:09 Yes. 40:09 So they're trying to get reporters to report certain things to save their ass. 40:14 And I don't necessarily know who's at fault or, or what's going to, or going to help. 40:19 But that's what it looks like to me because our pork got changed right before serious press conference 40:23 Yeah, which is strange timing of right and I think from what I've seen and I'm gonna be like Sirianne and say 40:30 I'm not a doctor. Can we all agree like we're not doctors? 40:33 Is any doctor in this room? Nope. No, I'm close. Yeah, you are close. Yeah 40:38 You're like one credit for shy. Yep medical school. I mean is MD. Yeah, Dr. Scholls 40:44 Mm-hmm. I think that what we're seeing is Dr. Pepper and Dr. Pepper 40:48 I Pepsi got Dr. Brown Pepsi Pepsi. Yeah, I think what we're seeing is 40:53 Like Max said team covering their ass. I think it was initially framed 41:00 probably from the Eagles 41:01 to Tom Pelicero of like 41:04 He's such a beast anybody that thinks that he doesn't love football doesn't care about winning games like 41:09 He wasn't even allowed to sleep and he came out and he decided he was gonna play 41:13 Because we love him and that's how much he cares about the team and then after the pushback 41:17 Whatever the source was from the Eagles was like shit. That really makes us feel it looked like we were not caring about his health at all 41:23 Let's switch that up a little bit from what I saw from other doctors 41:27 There are reasons if you've got like a blood clot that it's not advisable to stay still for very long like get on a flight 41:34 Yeah, like get on a flight or like get up and walk around every now and again 41:37 Don't be sitting still which sleep would be being still. Maybe that's where the 41:43 Like wires got crossed a little bit and the Eagles in their rush to talk about how much he loves 41:48 Playing football for the Eagles and what a great captain and leader is didn't think about the ramifications of telling that to a reporter 41:54 That's my guess 41:57 Yeah, your guess is as good as mine. I 42:00 Don't know how how we're gonna actually fully find out what happened in London that morning because I 42:07 Don't trust anything. They keep if you're gonna keep changing your door 42:10 Or you know what you got to do. 42:12 You got to just, you got to call Don. 42:14 You got to talk to Big Don. 42:16 Yeah, I'll see him on Monday. 42:17 He'll give it to you straight. 42:19 He'll give it to you straight. 42:21 But I don't know, because the other weird part of it is 42:27 everyone's saying that medical malpractice, 42:28 medical malpractice, Jalen Hurts is probably 42:32 you know, putting together a lawsuit 42:34 against the Eagles or whatever. 42:36 I don't think that's true anymore 42:37 because the agent keeps working with the Eagles. 42:39 Yeah, so it doesn't seem like Jalen Hertz is angry with the Eagles 42:45 But everyone else around us is like he should be angry with the Eagles. Can we can we throw out? Oh what the probable? 42:53 Real explanation for all of this is and that it's this 42:57 They probably found the blood clot. They probably were like, you know, that's not good 43:02 you got to be careful with this and 43:04 And the medical staff said, hey, Jalen Hertz, you could play. 43:09 We can't, you know, like it's up to you. 43:11 If you want to sit out, Jalen Hertz wants to play. 43:14 All these guys want to play. 43:15 They will go to links to put long term health at risk to play football. 43:21 That is part of what happens in the NFL. 43:23 So I don't think it's like, I think it's going to come out 43:26 that it wasn't like the Eagles are like, you're 100% healthy. 43:29 They probably were like, Jalen, here are the risks you could play. 43:32 here are the risks that come with it, 43:35 you make a decision and Jalen Hurts is like, 43:36 I'm gonna play. 43:38 And then you can make the argument, 43:39 like I don't even think that really helps 43:42 the Eagles case at all. 43:43 Like, I don't think that helps the Eagles medical staff 43:46 or whoever's making decisions, 43:48 whether that's Nick Siriani or whatever, 43:50 that wouldn't help them. 43:52 The only thing that would help that, 43:53 that would help like the Eagles organization 43:56 as a whole would be if, 43:59 Like the the 44:01 The doctors were right in that time that like playing football actually 44:07 Scientifically is correct, and I don't necessarily know if that's true. Yeah, because it seems to be that like 44:12 someone 44:13 Some doctor had to have said 44:15 You are you are good to go for it to be okay 44:18 Yeah, I don't know if we'll ever know what that doctor said 44:22 But for the only the only way that it is okay for Nick Siriani to make that decision is if a doctor would be like 44:29 He is healthy enough to play in this game. Yeah, he can play in this game 44:32 I'm guessing they which I I think I I feel like that had to have happened that a doctor 44:38 Who looked at his leg in that point of time had to have been like he is health 44:42 He is a hundred percent healthy enough to play or else they just wouldn't have played him 44:45 They were seven half point dogs in the game already. Yeah, like it wasn't like it 44:50 it was a divisional game to get to the playoffs. 44:52 I think if there was any- 44:54 So you mean you're saying that when we play each other, 44:56 Max, he's coming back? 44:58 No, I'm saying it like the end of the, 45:00 it's not like it was the end of the year 45:02 winning, get in sort of situation. 45:04 It was a seven half point, 45:05 you were seven half point dogs in London 45:08 against an AFC team. 45:09 It's very easy to just chalk that game up 45:12 if there's any question that Jalen Hurts' health 45:15 is at risk. 45:15 So I don't think Nick Siriani like, 45:17 I don't think he would have made that risk if he didn't think that he was a hundred percent good to go 45:22 I 45:24 Agree that whatever doctor checked him out at the time definitely 45:27 I definitely don't think that that doctor saw blood clots in his lungs and said yeah 45:32 You're good to play football that happened that happened. Yeah, that's that's now now did now did they check for additional blood clots in his lungs 45:40 I don't know if they if they did all that I've been seeing reporting 45:43 But I'm assuming that they did that they looked for other blood clots and there were none there blood clots confused 45:47 Yeah, that's the other thing. I don't know shit about blood clots because I don't I don't think Nick Siriani knows shit about blood clots 45:53 I honestly don't know if playing in a football game if you have a blood clot in your leg is a problem or 45:59 It sounds like it is but I'm not I don't know. I don't know that it would be it might not be yeah 46:03 Max had a on a national television this morning when this came up Max said I'm not smart enough to understand blood clots 46:11 So I'm not going to also tell Nick Siriani who's probably not smart enough to understand blood clots 46:16 How does answer the question that was true? That was a good answer on that. That is what that is a good answer 46:22 Yeah, I was basically he basically took the defense of two dumb Italian guys. We cannot be held accountable 46:27 Nick Sirianni supposed to know football. He's not supposed to I'm not counting on him to know blood clots. Yeah 46:33 He's listening to someone who is supposed to know blood clots 46:38 Also on that decision part of the reason why I don't take blood clots serious enough is because every time we say blood clots 46:44 I think of troops bum buck lot and that's and in my head and every time and Pete 46:49 Yeah, and Pete wears his little compression socks. So I got I'll hand up. I gotta respect blood clots more 46:55 They seem very serious. I just don't understand them 47:00 Agreed. Yeah, we're on the same page season from hell though officially season season from hell. That's the other thing 47:07 If they if they if they thought there was any risk he practiced 47:11 He came back and practiced right away got on a flight you got on a flight like they they must have just been given 47:18 horrendous 47:18 Information for or they didn't know at all or they didn't know at all. Yeah, because I mean a flight 47:23 I think is like the one thing you're not supposed to do it will give you blood clots 47:26 Yeah, but then he would have said but then he would have just had to stay in London for the next eight weeks 47:30 I read eight weeks. Yeah, I mean shit 47:34 I think if you have the option like get on a flight and risk dying or stay in London get on blood 47:40 You probably stay in London, right? 47:42 Could he have taken a boat? 47:43 Yeah, he could have. 47:45 Maybe, I don't know. 47:47 Because air pressure, partially. 47:49 Yeah. 47:49 Either way, the craziest thing to say about the Eagles season 47:53 is that it's such a season from hell 47:54 that it feels like six months ago 48:00 that one of their best players in franchise history 48:03 retired midseason. 48:04 Yeah. 48:04 Like Lane Johnson feels like ancient history story. 48:07 And that's how much has happened in the last two weeks also the funniest part not the funniest whatever that is 48:13 We just forget that they had that game one until yeah, the game was one 48:17 They were up they were up with eight seconds left. No timeouts lost the game. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah a mirror of Dula 48:24 All right, let's do a hot seat cool throne 48:26 Then we'll get to Andy Staples college football and Sam Leporter from the Detroit Lions 48:31 Before we get to hot seat cool throne 48:35 We are it is brought to you by our friends at tic pic PMT is brought to you by tic pic the NBA is back 48:43 Last night 48:45 Max Zack 48:46 memes 48:48 Steven Shea all went to banner night. They were there for LeBron's first game for banner night ring night 49:01 also Zach's first time ever in New York City. 49:04 So that is the best because they made it happen. 49:08 So here's the thing, 49:09 the Knicks and Sixers run it back 10 days later 49:12 in Philly on October 30th. 49:14 That's Friday night, October 30th. 49:15 And right now, TickPick, you can get in 49:17 for about 200 bucks, same rivalry, 49:19 same LeBron, way less money. 49:21 If you've got your eye on a game, 49:23 track it in the TickPick app 49:24 and it'll keep an eye on the price for you 49:26 with alerts when prices move. 49:28 And TickPick has never charged from service fees. 49:31 So the money you'd spend on fees somewhere else can go toward a cheesesteak 49:35 Every orders covered by their buyer trust guarantee tick pick guarantees all tickets will be 100% valid for entry and delivered on time for the event 49:44 Fans trust tick pick go check the reviews yourself 49:47 So I overpay for the exact same seat download the tick pick app and stop paying service fees and for new tick pick fans 49:54 Take $20 off your first order with promo code PMT 20 in the tick pick app 49:59 Orders must be $200 or more to apply. 50:01 That's PMT 20 at checkout for $20 off your first order. 50:05 Hank, hot seat, cool throw. 50:07 My hot seat's Troy Aikman and Joe Buck. 50:11 It was the definition of a hot seat. 50:14 I feel like it's got- 50:15 You think it was awkward? 50:16 Yeah. 50:17 It was awkward. 50:18 I also, and I don't know if it was because 50:20 there was so much discussion, 50:21 so I was paying a little bit closer attention. 50:23 It felt like Troy just had a poop in his pants 50:25 the whole game. 50:26 Yeah. 50:26 I you remember that game where he just like you know, Williams. Yeah, it felt like the whole game 50:33 He was saying that about and that's about everything. Yeah, the rest the calls. It's not pretty loves birdie. He doesn't look pretty. Yeah 50:41 Yeah, it's awkward 50:43 I 50:44 Don't really know what they 50:48 We're good friends Joe Buck. So it's like I actually think Joe buck probably did nothing wrong other than maybe not communicating 50:55 like well enough because it wasn't no free ads, 50:59 but go buy our book. 51:01 We taught PFT and I wrote about this. 51:03 When you're in a like relationship like this, 51:07 it's very hard and the only way to make it last long term 51:11 is you have to be really upfront with each other. 51:13 And that's what we, when PFT had a contract up, 51:16 when the pen stuff was going on, 51:18 we just were very upfront with each other 51:19 being like, here's the deal 51:21 so that neither of us are blindsided. 51:23 That's probably where it got awkward. 51:25 They probably didn't do a good job talking beforehand, right? 51:29 I don't know if there was an expectation from Troy 51:31 that Joe was gonna keep them in the loop 51:33 and that they were a package deal. 51:36 And that, I don't know, maybe Joe got somebody at ESPN 51:38 talked to him and Joe like kept that from Troy. 51:42 I don't know exactly what happened. 51:44 But if there was an expectation 51:46 that they were going to kind of go 51:47 through that negotiation together, 51:49 I could see why Troy would be a little bit miffed by that. 51:52 Yeah, it probably it probably was Joe probably just I don't know if he did he might have done this but 52:00 just going up to Troy and being like hey they're offering me a hundred million dollars I kind of 52:06 have to take it but also at the end of the day Troy you're going to get offered 60 million dollars 52:12 to talk about football once a week it's not you're not solving cancer yeah you're not doing 52:19 anything you're not like negotiating peace treaties you're talking about 52:24 football on Monday night you're getting paid 60 million dollars to do that you're 52:29 also the guy next to you might be making ten million dollars more than you are 52:33 every year who gives a fuck Troy yeah this is you've got the best job in the 52:38 entire world are you gonna let the ego get in the way of you having a dream 52:43 job I don't know like it you can't turn into a salty bitter co-worker because 52:50 Joe Buck got paid a lot of money and he didn't bring you along and hold your 52:53 hands and you also have to have the presence of mind of understanding the 52:57 roles that you guys both have Joe Bucks career will always last longer than the 53:03 color analyst career you know I mean Phil Sims was Jim Nance's partner right 53:08 they threw Phil Sims to the curb because he had already been out of the 53:11 league for 30 years and like he's old gymnast still calling 53:15 games. Joe Buck is going to call games for a long time and 53:19 probably cycle through a couple color analysts because 53:22 eventually it's like, hey, Trey Aikman, you won a Super Bowl 53:25 25 years ago. Maybe we're going to get someone new and Trey 53:28 Aikman skill set. I don't want to diminish it because he 53:30 is good on TV. I gasped him up the other day when I was like 53:34 Commander's fans. I don't think we see like a bias 53:36 necessarily coming from him even though we hate the 53:39 Cowboys, but his job is like, you see a play happen. 53:44 You're like, if he catches that ball right there, 53:47 I'm not so sure that's not a first down. 53:49 Like, that's your job. 53:51 Yeah. 53:51 If he doesn't get his hands on that ball, 53:53 I'm not so sure that he's not taking that 53:55 and getting a moving the chains on that there, Joe. 53:58 Back at Brockporty, as good as you'll see in this league. 54:00 Back to you, Joe. 54:02 And to make us points, like you were, 54:03 before this, you're a professional athlete, 54:05 where it's like literally like huge disparities of pay 54:08 And yeah, and some people get paid more and people and it's like next man up and Joe buck is going to be again 54:15 you the the 54:17 Play-by-play guy is always gonna be probably more important and have the longevity. I mean how Michael's still doing 54:24 There's not an 80 year old player still doing it like that. I know how Michael's pretty washed 54:28 But this is just it was always gonna come a day where they were gonna say we want Joe buck still and we don't want 54:34 Treatment but they didn't do it what maybe wasn't communicated that always gonna happen 54:37 They didn't do themselves any favors by like no by by making it like let's just let's be professionals of power through it was like 54:43 The the beginning of the broadcast was like oh man 54:47 Yeah, and Joe buck did the thing after the game where they were on SVP together and 54:52 SVP asked them a question Joe did his thing where he was like you want me to answer that to true 54:57 Scott can I answer that like after Troy already answered. Yeah, like there's some weird vibes going on that booth 55:03 Um, we'll stand with Joe Buck though. She's loyal to us. So whatever he needs us to do if he wants us to say like 55:09 Oh, you did nothing wrong. We got you, bro. I was you know what? I was uh equally for both of them 55:14 I wanted them both to get paid until 55:17 Troy was too sassy last night. Mm-hmm. That's how hey, it's a one-week business. Yep 55:21 What have you done for me lately? Yeah, he was too sassy made some remarks and didn't care for sorry Troy 55:25 How it goes all right and then my cool throws Jay-Z. Oh, yeah, it's gonna be mine 55:30 Yeah, so Jay-Z's like you remember like I don't know five six. I don't know how long ago, but his company 55:37 Signed a deal with the NFL where his company picks and like finds the talent for the halftime show 55:43 Mm-hmm, and so I don't know if there was just it was probably hard to book someone or what but 55:48 They said it was hard booking someone so Jay Jay-Z was able to book himself. Oh nice 55:53 He was available. So Jay-Z is doing the halftime show. So he just looked around. He's like shit 55:57 We need someone. Oh, I guess I could do this. This is uh, you know who might be good for the halftime show like I think I think me 56:03 Yeah, we know George W. Bush was looking for a vice president 56:06 He hired Dick Cheney to run the search firm to try to find him one and he came back. He's like I gotta tell him something 56:12 George, I think it's probably gonna be me. Yeah, so that's that's what Jay-Z did right here. It should have been Miley 56:19 Yeah, should have been Miley 56:21 disgusted 56:22 Yeah, should have been been men's 56:24 We'll have been men's mm-hmm. But yeah, Jay-Z. I mean power move. He's very funny. He's got some great songs 56:30 He's got some bangers. What do you mean? Yeah, but I saw somebody point this out that like most of his bangers 56:36 produced by Kanye 56:39 Yeah, it's kind of gonna perform 56:41 Maybe that'd be awesome. You're gonna have to repaint the end zones again 56:45 They're definitely gonna. I mean Jay-Z's gonna have 56:48 Songs that we all know versus some of the halftime shows that we haven't we haven't had that 56:54 Like what? 56:56 Well, you hate it bad bunny. I love bad bunny. Okay, the Patriots weren't getting fucking 57:01 Dummy'd in the first half 57:03 What do you think max I? 57:06 Was just thinking about you painting the end zone. Yeah, if you just it would it just say start racism if it's Kanye 57:12 No, no, I think we'd have to like Robert Kraft would have to and racism again. Yeah 57:17 With Kanye. Yeah, I think it would have to say in and racism on one end zone 57:21 and then the other says and also anti-Semitism on the other end zone. And then and only then 57:27 will Kanye West be allowed to perform because that counteracts all the other stuff. 57:32 Got it. Got it. Got it. Got it. 57:33 Like the t-shirt, the t-shirt that he sold. Okay. 57:36 We can forget about that because we painted the end zone. 57:40 All right. Hot seat, cool to run PFT. 57:43 Hot seat, our ears because not just Jay-Z, they have announced half time for Thanksgiving 57:50 game today I believe it was it wasn't Dolly Parton a couple years ago wait which 57:55 one I think it was no no which which Thanksgiving game I think it was Detroit 58:00 let me see no that they announced for this one that's what I'm looking at right 58:03 now got it got it that's Bears Lions let's see I know it's the Thanksgiving 58:09 Eve game oh my mistake the first ever Thanksgiving Eve game has its musical 58:16 Oh, it's the Packers-Rams game and it's you too 58:20 They're gonna get our iPhones again. Yeah, you too. This is how they do it 58:23 You too has a history of just invading spaces that they're not welcome in they 58:28 I would slide on Netflix. They they force themselves onto America's phones. Yeah, and now they're forcing us 58:36 They're forcing themselves into America's pastime. Yeah, but they've they saw dates 58:41 Yeah, but then Bono, where were you during COVID, buddy? 58:44 Really, Bono really fucked up COVID because you've been prepping for that for your entire 58:50 life and then you were nowhere to be seen, buddy. 58:53 So yeah, I haven't thought about you two in years and now they're going to come on and 58:56 play. 58:57 They have good songs. 58:58 Dads are going to love this. 58:59 Yeah, they have good songs. 59:00 Yeah. 59:00 They have a couple. 59:01 It's a halftime. 59:02 Halftime's quick. 59:04 I feel like you two, though, like, I don't know. 59:06 There's something about them where it's a little off. 59:08 It's like they wanted to be Bono Bono wanting to save the world 59:12 Yeah, no, but I'm saying like in just a fan the fans of what a piece of shit 59:17 It's kind of like a Beatles Rolling Stones fan. You know breakdown. Who's their ad who's who's you two are who? 59:24 Aerosmith no probably be 59:27 Oasis oh 59:29 That's that's where it's like the weirdos like you too the guys who want to get hammered like oasis you too is 59:37 Hank, to answer your question, what's wrong with... 59:40 He's such a narcissist that he actually thinks 59:42 that he was put here to save the world. 59:44 Yeah. 59:45 Okay, God forbid. 59:46 God forbid. 59:47 God forbid. 59:47 So is Jesus. 59:48 Start with live. 59:49 If you're going to save the world, start with live. 59:51 Yeah. 59:51 Okay. 59:52 One swing at a time. 59:53 And then my cool throne is sunlight 59:54 because remember daylight savings this weekend. 59:57 This Saturday. 59:57 Set the clocks forward, big change, fall forward. 60:02 I actually like it. 60:02 My cool throne is darkness. 60:04 What? 60:05 But it's gonna get dark earlier no fall for we push the clocks forward in the fall. Thank 60:14 you. It's you're thinking the spray other way. Either way it's Saturday fall forward spring 60:20 back make sure you change the clocks don't miss anything okay my hot seats is I'm gonna 60:27 go wait fuck I had it and then I lost it oh Twitter doctors do you guys see the Twitter 60:32 doctor. Yeah. Retired. Yeah. Love it. Lost a good one out there. So this was uh what was 60:40 his name? He uh. Jesse Morse. Morse. Jesse Morse. He got bullied online because he basically 60:47 uh guessed like four different injuries for Devonte Adams and everyone was like dude 60:55 thanks a lot. We like you you're moron you're just guessing like you said four different 61:00 things that are all very different. So then he's he got bullied. And he said effective 61:05 immediately. This is a real thing that happened. A Twitter doctor had to retire online effective 61:10 immediately. I've decided that it's not worth the energy stress headaches, negative publicity to 61:14 spend most of my free time discussing injuries anymore. My reputation is not worth it. Dude, 61:18 you're a fucking Twitter doctor. I get so much hate. It's just not worth it anymore. It's 61:24 been a good run. I started in 2017, but I'm tired and I need to put my energy into more 61:27 productive things. I want to focus my energy on peptide education, helping 61:33 pep-peptavo grow and become the number one peptide education platform on the 61:37 planet, getting peptide education into medical schools, residencies, fellowships, 61:42 nursing programs. I want to focus my energy on anti-aging longevity medicine, 61:46 regenerative medicine. So we lost a good one. Hold on, hold on. He might be back. 61:50 Oh, is he back? He deleted that tweet. Okay. So I don't know. So that 61:55 mean he didn't tweet anything about last night's game and there was some injuries to be talked 62:01 about last night but his retirement tweet no longer exists I think he just wanted to get 62:06 drunk last night I think he got in his field he wanted to watch football like everybody 62:10 else and so he's like I'm gonna do a fake retirement for one day that's also an ad for 62:14 this peptide company I just love the idea of your Twitter doctor dude no one fucking 62:19 takes you seriously we all just panic when one of our players gets hurt we search 62:24 the energy, the injury, and you happen to be at the top of the search, we don't actually take you as 62:30 like real. Well, the the role is we search the injury until we find one Twitter doctor who tells 62:36 us good news. Correct. And then that becomes our Twitter doctor guy. I was trying to find this 62:41 tweet. I don't know if you mentioned it. I know I've had a bad track record with that recently. 62:45 Did you talk about how he's big time anti-vaxx as well? No, he said that yeah, he's claiming 62:50 in the blood clots on Jalen Hertz. 62:52 He was like, can we talk about the elephant in the room? 62:56 And it was just like an article that said 62:57 that Jalen Hertz took the COVID-vax. 62:59 Okay. 62:59 That's the elephant in the room, though. 63:02 Also. 63:02 That's a big Nick Nurse thing. 63:03 We should. 63:04 We should. 63:05 Remember that, Max? 63:06 Yeah, elephant in the room. 63:07 We can't do this again. 63:08 We should also mention Dr. Morse, 63:10 his greatest hits was when he vehemently disagreed 63:15 with someone online about Christian Watson's injury, 63:19 basically saying that Christian Watson was, he was like, 63:24 I'm surprised he was able to practice 63:26 and saying that it was not ankle sprain, 63:30 it was something more. 63:32 He was disagreeing with Christian Watson's dad, okay? 63:35 About Christian Watson's injury. 63:37 So Christian Watson's dad who probably saw the MRI, 63:41 probably was maybe even in the hospital 63:43 with Christian Watson, he was going back and forth 63:45 and being like, just so you know, 63:47 I've been doing this a long time, 63:48 I know what I'm talking about and Christian wants his dad. It's like dude 63:51 We literally have a diagnosis and it's this and it's not what you're saying. Mm-hmm. So 63:57 We lost a good one boys. They lost a good one. It's very very sad and also yet 64:02 So Terry McLaurin last night. That was bad bad. I I heard patella or tendon 64:07 Which is probably the worst one and maybe the most painful one 64:11 That's brutal might be the end of Terry in DC 64:14 And he was a great player even through some shitty teams that really sucked to watch 64:18 So I wanted to mention him because he's been like a he's one of those guys if you root for shitty teams 64:22 You've got guys that are like a little ray of light in dark times and he was that guy for a long time great player 64:28 I hope that he comes back and plays 64:30 But yeah, some of the other Twitter doctors were kind of in unison saying that looks like patella 64:34 Well, I'm sorry. You don't have an actual diagnosis because dr. Morse dr. Morse 64:38 I was waiting for him to confirm it. Yeah, also that referee we did get a diagnosis on him 64:43 Yeah, he's out right he's out for the rest of the year 64:46 Damn torn quadriceps muscle for the guy that got carted off in the London game 64:50 All right, my cool throne. I got two real quick one is Colts fans talked about on Sunday had to fire Chris Ballard 64:56 They actually finally did it. I'm happy for Colts fans 65:00 You can't keep going like hey 65:02 Well, if this is different if Daniel Jones come plays a little bit better like, you know 65:07 If we get a different quarterback Chris Ballard was there for ten years never won an AFC South 65:12 you finally just it's inexcusable also feels like Shane Stikin is very much 65:18 on the hot seat if you read the note that Carly Urse wrote and basically being 65:24 like we expect to still win and be competitive I don't know how they're 65:28 gonna do that but Chris Ballard gone Colts fans you get a fresh start you 65:33 need a fresh start you've been doing the same exact thing every single year 65:37 since Andrew Luck retired, and I said it at the time, 65:42 the Andrew Luck retirement is probably 65:43 what bought Chris Ballard a lot more years 65:46 because he basically could just keep on saying, 65:48 well, our plans were screwed up because Andrew Luck retired. 65:51 But congrats to Colts fans, the bad man's gone. 65:54 Mother Cruelthrone is basketball, NBA's here. 65:56 So the boys are going to Banner Night. 65:58 We will recap on Friday's show how Banner Night went. 66:02 Do we want to do quick NBA title picks? 66:06 Who's in it and who do you have winning? Memes? You want to start? 66:11 Yep, Nick's back-back champs versus O.K.C. 66:14 Okay. 66:16 Sixers over T-Wolves. 66:18 Sixers over T-Wolves? 66:19 That'd be a little mellow. 66:21 Yeah, fuck it. 66:22 T-Wolves are going to be fun. 66:23 I have no idea what the T-Wolves are going to look like. 66:25 Yeah, fuck it. 66:26 It could be fun. 66:27 So Nick's walked down Wimby again. Just do it again. 66:29 Okay. 66:30 I got the Spurs and the Wizards. 66:33 And we got SAR versus Wimby a couple French guys going at it and 66:38 Spurs win this one. I got round one. I got the thunder over the Raptors. Oh, yeah 66:48 What you don't like it? No, okay. I 66:50 Got the Celtics over thunder team the decade team of the decade 66:55 Yeah, all in it saw on the line. Are you guys? How are you guys feeling going into tonight? 67:01 I'm I'm fired up. Yeah, I was saying before I kind of wish it was against the Spurs 67:05 Just cuz they could make Wemby cry again. Yeah, I fucking hate the Spurs 67:09 But this would be fun get to watch LeBron and in the greatest player in the world. Yep. Love that 67:14 Love that LeBron is greatest player in the world. No, he called Jalen Brunson. Yep, and yeah 67:20 Jalen Brown could be in there, too. You think the post rooting for he's definitely rooting for the Knicks, right? 67:24 Yes, no guy. Well, he's not yeah, he has no guys to fill you. Yeah, who the Pope 67:31 Yeah, Pope's probably room for the next yeah, I'm willing to concede that fact. Okay, but this game doesn't matter 67:37 I just have to tell myself that doesn't matter it's game one. Well, it does matter 67:40 No, it does you're you're not allowed to say that you just kept saying how none of none of these games matter all morning 67:46 It's a home game for LeBron though. You just keep saying and up on national television 67:50 I we had we're solo on and I my question was I don't really care about 67:54 basketball in October who's gonna win 67:57 And then I never ask another question. That's a fair question. It's football season. I'm sorry 68:01 The NBA starts too early. They agree should start on Christmas day 68:05 It should be a 60 game schedule should start on Christmas day. It'd be so much better. I 68:11 I'll watch because sports are on but I just can't care about game five of the NBA season 68:16 I'm just being honest. I don't really care about game. I do care about game one. Yeah game one. Sure 68:21 I care about game one and then whatever 68:23 Probably like one game during Thanksgiving week. I'll care about 68:27 Then Christmas Day, I'll start caring full-time 68:31 But game one 68:33 Feed on the wood. Mm-hmm 68:35 Maybe I'm so excited to see if they're at the fear on wood. Very excited. All right, Zach 68:40 My hot seat this week is gonna be guys you collect cards. We had a heist. Yeah, I think it was like roughly 68:46 960,000 out the FedEx truck 68:49 Thanks employee left the truck for like 30 to 90 minutes came back 68:54 Almost million dollars of cars is gone at the PSA headquarters 68:58 They blamed a broken lock on the truck 69:01 So this is like the town 69:04 It's up with autos and holographics good fellas 69:08 Yeah, so where was this so this is at the PSA headquarters 69:11 So they it was a shipment of like roughly a hundred packages of cards that were already graded getting ready to send back to their owners 69:18 And then like roughly 50 of them got taken so what but like where is the PSA headquarters? What city PSA headquarters? 69:25 I think it's California. Yeah, okay. Yeah, this is a good old-fashioned heist 69:30 Like we're gonna see these cards on a black market. Oh, they're definitely gonna be floating around like it definitely like the trade shows 69:35 Yeah, it was set up the tables. Yeah, it sucks if your card got stolen that said I'm I think I'm always pro heist 69:42 We haven't had a heist in a long time. Yeah heists are heists are pretty fun 69:45 There was that one at the museum. Yeah, but they found them. But that was still a heist. That was cool at the Louvre 69:52 Oh with the scooter. He's one of our college football 72:35 experts. And Andy, good to talk to you. I don't know where you want to start. 72:40 You decide where you want to start. It was one of those incredible Saturdays 72:45 that college football can only do. You cannot. We love the NFL. We're an NFL 72:50 first podcast. You cannot have a day like we had on Saturday in an NFL 72:55 Sunday. Uh, it just was, it was remarkable from start to finish. 72:59 It was incredible. And it just kept rolling. That's the part that was 73:03 It was amazing to me because you had the noon window where Florida shocks Texas 73:09 and Arch Manning, you know, just collapses at the end of the game. 73:14 You have Bryce Underwood getting benched at Michigan. 73:18 Like that's just the noon window. 73:20 And then you roll into Nick Marsh. 73:22 Nick Marsh, I was watching the night slate. 73:27 And I was like, I think I tweeted. 73:28 I was like, Nick Marsh feels like he stepped out of bounds six years ago. 73:32 And it was like, because it was that much stuff that had happened. 73:35 And can you imagine if that ball is six inches further to the right or 73:39 Nick Marsh's foot is six inches further to the right? 73:43 Yeah. 73:43 That is, that would be Indiana beating Ohio State on a walk off touchdown. 73:48 Yeah. 73:48 Like, what? 73:50 I don't, by the way, Julian Sayin's hurt. 73:52 Like that all happened in the noon window. 73:54 And then you roll to 330 and all eyes were on, on Knoxville 73:58 where Tennessee's beating the crap out of Alabama. 74:00 and oh my God, Auburn's beating George. 74:03 And then even my wife, who does not care about football at all, 74:08 sat there and watched the entire BYU Notre Dame game with me, 74:13 referring to Bear and Tiger as those Bachbauer QT pies, 74:18 like getting mad at me because I said, 74:20 I think probably Notre Dame's going to win this one pretty handily. 74:24 And like rubbing my face in it every time BYU stuffed them. 74:28 I think you you just hit on something that I think that Saturday passed the tell your wife about it test and it's you know 74:35 Obviously, you know some people like you know some women are just in just in the college football as much as the husband 74:41 But my wife doesn't really care about college football and when I when I like climb into bed at the end of a Saturday 74:46 She's like what happened and I was like I gotta tell you what happened like everyone lost 74:51 It was crazy. I was like this team lost this team lost this team lost 74:55 So, yeah, it was nuts. 74:57 I guess I'll start with this when it comes to Ohio State. 75:01 How do you think Ohio State is going to navigate the end of the season where it's like Julian 75:05 saying might be out for the year? 75:07 They have one more loss they can give, maybe two, probably not. 75:14 Do you think this is a situation where we can see a playoff without Ohio State? 75:19 It's possible because they're scheduled. 75:21 This is the hardest Ohio State schedule in decades. 75:23 So we already knew going in that even if everybody was healthy and everything went right 75:28 There was an outside chance they could wind up a three-loss team. Now you look at what they've got the rest of the way 75:35 They're they're off this week, but their next games against USC 75:38 They play Oregon, which we don't know if Dante more will be backed by then because Oregon with and without Dante more 75:43 two very different teams 75:46 Northwestern looks 75:47 Like a wagon except maybe a little bit Saturday where they that was another one of those games 75:52 like Northwestern walked off Michigan State. Nobody even noticed because 75:57 everything else that was going on. Nebraska keeps getting close in these 76:02 games and then gets their guts ripped out. Like they may win one of these 76:05 eventually. And then of course you've got Michigan at the end of the season, 76:08 which they've changed quarterbacks. Maybe that's going to be okay. Yeah. If 76:12 Ohio State is playing Luke Fahey the rest of the year, I don't know if 76:17 they survived this. I don't because they're not as good as they were last 76:20 I think Indiana and Ohio State, when we watched them play this past week, both of them are 76:25 not as good as they were last year. 76:26 They're not as talented as they were last year. 76:30 Indiana, Josh Hoover is no Fernando Mendoza, Ohio State, their defense is not what it was 76:36 with sunny styles and Arvel Reese and Caleb Downs. 76:40 So this is going to be nip and tug. 76:43 It is like Ohio State people are going to have to sweat, which they're not used 76:47 to doing. 76:47 They're used to playing a two game season, and this was never going to be a two game 76:52 season, but now it becomes even more fraught. 76:55 Yeah. 76:55 So big picture stuff. 76:56 If we're looking at Saturday, it was the best Saturday that I can remember in recent 77:01 memory for college football. 77:03 And it makes me think the gold standard in, I guess, recent memory for just years 77:08 is 2007. 77:09 How close are we on trajectory to like if we're doing an AP top 25 years in recent 77:16 college football memory. How close are we to getting? Are we on track? Are we on track 77:21 right now to surpass 2007? Yes, because Miami advanced to number one by barely surviving 77:29 what I would consider a lame duck Florida state in double overtime and needed a very bad holding 77:35 call for that to happen. So I do think we're in for that level of chaos because 77:41 Cause it's Miami like that. 77:43 Now you've got Miami and BYU at the top of the stands. 77:46 I guarantee you in six weeks it's going to look different. 77:48 Now Miami might be able to stay there, 77:50 but BYU is going to have some challenges. 77:52 They got to play Utah. 77:53 Like this is not going to be easy for them going forward. 77:56 And then like I'm assuming Georgia will win its way back up 78:01 and then we'll have the carnage in the big 10 78:03 because Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan, 78:08 all have to play each other. 78:09 like there's so much left and then we haven't gotten into the SEC because it 78:15 feels like those teams are down squished down because people have lost but who's 78:21 actually gonna survive like guys Lane Kiffin his playoff chances may be done 78:26 this weekend yeah they play at Auburn this weekend it's actually crazy I 78:31 wanted to talk about the SEC because it's nuts to look at the SEC and see 78:36 like every single team outside of maybe like, you know, Vanderbilt, Arkansas is a disaster. 78:42 Mississippi State without Camaro, Camaro, maybe Texas. And there's, there's like 12 78:46 teams that could conceivably be a playoff team if the, if everything falls their way. 78:52 So right now, if I told you that the SEC gets four playoff teams, tell me which 78:58 four those are because I don't think it's Texas anymore. 79:03 Georgia, Alabama. Okay. Tennessee. Okay. Maybe Kentucky. I was going to say, Kentucky's 79:14 because like LSU and Alabama, you have to kind of pick one or the other because they're 79:18 going to play each other and that and they both have two losses now. 79:22 So it's like, 79:23 Tennessee and Kentucky play each other down the stretch too. Yeah. And like, if you're 79:27 Tennessee, everybody loves that Tennessee defense. I mean, I, I, my, my co-host 79:31 Darryl Wasserman has compared to them to the 2000 Ravens. 79:35 I've made an 85 bears reference earlier. 79:38 They're awesome, but Tennessee fans are looking at this week and going, 79:42 Oh my God, of all the weeks, we have to go to Columbia, South Carolina, 79:46 which has been an absolute house of horrors for good Tennessee teams. 79:50 And that's the, that's the thing about this. 79:53 Like that Tennessee, Kentucky game could be a playoff elimination game. 79:59 If Kentucky were to drop one between now and then, if Tennessee were to lose a South Carolina this weekend, 80:04 like, nothing is guaranteed. Nothing is certain. 80:07 If you think you're going to see chalk, that's where you're crazy. 80:11 Is Kentucky being hurt right now because the fact that one of their big wins is against LSU 80:16 and that counts as less of a big win because Kentucky beat them? 80:21 No, Kentucky's fine because all they have to do is keep winning. 80:24 Like if Kentucky's 10 and two, they're making the playoffs. 80:27 So there's there's not really a style point situation that they've got to worry about. 80:31 They just have to keep winning. 80:32 They can drop one, but that's all they can drop. 80:35 Yeah, it's it's it's crazy to look at. 80:38 It's just so fun that everyone feels like they're playing each other. 80:42 And let me go back to the Texas thing because I did say it. 80:45 And this isn't a recency bias. 80:47 I actually said that before they played Oklahoma, I was like their pretenders 80:50 looking ahead at their schedule. 80:52 I think Texas is going to have a hard time making the playoff because I just don't trust their offense is 80:58 Who's gonna who's gonna get the blame for this? 81:00 Obviously arch is probably not gonna be a Texas next year 81:02 But doesn't this feel like this is now back-to-back quarterbacks with Sark who have gotten worse as the years have gone on and not better 81:10 Where they come in promising and Quinn yours kind of same way. It's like I'm not saying Quinn yours is bad 81:15 But it's not like he got he took this big leap forward 81:19 under a Sark. So did Sark get the blame here? And what's the future for Sark in Texas? 81:26 So you sound like the Texas fans who have been yelling at me for the better part of a month. 81:31 Yeah. 81:31 Any time I bring up the possibility that Arch might not be the greatest. 81:36 Yeah. 81:37 And their argument and it's really a chicken egg argument is, well, it's because of 81:42 Sark's play calling. It's because Sark can't develop quarterbacks. I'd say that 81:47 that the results are bearing out their argument, 81:51 but I would also argue that Arch is not the best processor. 81:56 Agreed. I'm not, by the way, I'm not putting it all on Sark. 81:59 I think Arch is bad, has been bad and it's a mix. 82:03 I'm saying more Arch, the Arch's part of it 82:06 is going to figure itself out in the fact 82:07 that he only has so much eligibility. 82:09 He's probably gonna go somewhere next year. 82:11 What is Texas going to do with Sark 82:13 if this is the actual problem? 82:16 So, here's the thing. 82:18 I don't think Sark's in a position where he'd get fired. 82:21 I think Sark's in a position where they would demand that he hire an offensive coordinator. 82:25 And it's fascinating because we watched this play out two years ago at Florida where Billy 82:30 Napier is told in October of 2024, you have to hire an offensive coordinator. 82:36 You have to fire your defensive coordinator and then you can stay. 82:42 And he said, sure. 82:44 Then he beats LSU and Ole Miss, and he's like, ah, I got some juice now. 82:49 I'm not going to do any of that. 82:50 And then he got fired. 82:52 What was his first thing he did? 82:55 He got to JMU, PFT. 82:56 He had an OC. 82:57 He's currently 7-0. 82:59 But Sark is the same thing. 83:02 And I get it. 83:03 See, I'm more sympathetic to Sark than I think the Texas fans are because Sark 83:08 got hired for his play calling acumen. 83:10 It was the thing that made him special when he got the job. 83:14 So to give it up to say that the thing that makes me special, I'm going to let somebody 83:19 else do. 83:20 I think that's going to be hard for him, but I think it's also potentially a necessary 83:24 step. 83:25 You know, I've had Texas fans that point out his problems calling plays in the red 83:30 zone and it goes way back long before he called that toss on, you know, short 83:36 yardage near the goal line against Ohio State in the peach or in the cotton ball 83:40 a few years ago. I don't think it's red zone. I think it's short yardage. Yeah. 83:45 Like if you watch that Florida game, there were a third and twos, fourth and 83:48 ones, he just for whatever reason can never call the right play on short yardage 83:54 situations. It makes no sense. And you can say, well, the offensive line 83:58 needs to block a lot of it is having the right play dialed up. And I go back 84:04 Like the last year when, when they played at Georgia, Mike Bobo, who gets crushed by 84:08 Georgia fans, their OC, there was a fourth and short and he called them just the most 84:13 brilliant little bootleg flick out to the tight end is the perfect play call for the 84:18 perfect situation. 84:19 Will Stein on that walkoff, two point conversion against LSU, perfect play call for the perfect 84:25 situation. 84:26 Sometimes guys just have that and guys don't and Sart may not have that anymore as 84:32 as he deals with all the other global issues 84:34 that you deal with being the head coach of Texas. 84:36 Yeah, I was about to say, 84:37 do you think that it's two different skill sets at Texas? 84:40 Like in order to be a good football coach there, 84:43 in terms of the off the field stuff, 84:45 recruiting, managing the big personalities 84:47 in the booster room, 84:48 that is completely different from being exes 84:51 and those guy, quarterback development guy, 84:53 because Sark has developed quarterbacks in the past. 84:56 Like he's got a great track record of it. 84:58 But at Texas, there's so much 84:59 that goes along with the job. 85:00 Like when Mac Brown was at his best there. He was he was shaking hands and kissing babies 85:04 Yeah, and kind of delegating everything else if you're gonna be the the like hands-on exes nose guy 85:11 You typically see other stuff fall by the wayside and maybe with Sark 85:14 It's like he's too focused on the other stuff and he's kind of lost that ability 85:19 With his hands full to really bring arch and Quinn along 85:23 I think that's probably the the most accurate way to put it and if you look at Mac, you know 85:29 and that was a different time. 85:31 But Mac had Greg Davis as his coordinator most of the time. 85:35 Mac was the quintessential CEO coach. 85:38 And that's probably what you need to be at Texas. 85:41 There are probably other programs 85:42 where you don't have to be that, 85:44 but at Texas, maybe that's what you need to be. 85:46 And I do think Sark will get significant pressure 85:50 to do that. 85:51 And look, I'm not saying they're even out of the woods 85:54 because guys, they could lose this weekend. 85:56 And I don't know that necessarily knocks them out of the playoff because they still have 86:01 the Ohio State win in pocket. 86:03 But even if even let's say they lost this weekend, they still have to play at Missouri 86:07 and at LSU and I don't care how bad Texas A&M has been this season. 86:11 You don't think that they would jump on a chance to jump on a down Longhorn team. 86:16 So this is going to be a really interesting game because look, John Somerall and Pete 86:22 Goldinger very close. My guess is Pete Golding. If he didn't talk to John Somerall has definitely 86:27 looked at everything John Somerall did and Brad White, their DC at Florida to heat up 86:33 arch last week. And they're probably going to do the same thing again. Cause the book 86:38 on arch is send a bunch of pressure. He may beat you downfield. Like he had that beautiful 86:44 62 yard pass to Emmett Mosley on fourth and six in the fourth quarter of that game 86:48 against Florida, but you will trade that for all of the throwing it 10 yards over the head 86:55 of the guy, you know, standing along the sideline or not noticing when he's got a hot guy right 87:01 here that he can dump off to and taken a sack or like you saw in the Florida game fumbling 87:07 because you're getting hit from all sides. 87:10 Like that's the risk you're going to take and if you're Ole Miss, which has kind 87:14 is some of the same secondary issues Florida's had. You don't, I don't want my corners and 87:21 safeties to have to try to cover Cam Coleman by himself down, down the field for very long. 87:27 Yeah. I don't, but I don't want them to try to cover him at all. I want arch on his back 87:31 so he can't throw to Cam Coleman. All right. I want to talk about BYU incredible 87:35 win. I doubted him. Like I hand up. I had no name in the game. I've always 87:41 They saw BYU is a very good team, but not a great team. 87:44 That was as impressive as impressive gets, especially from Bear Bachmire with no LJ Martin, 87:49 the way they win that game. 87:52 Going forward is the big 12 of a two bid league, maybe three bid league and Ken Notre Dame 88:00 potentially lose the Miami game and still make the playoff. 88:03 I know the 12, the top 12 thing that they got in the Notre Dame clause, but how do 88:06 you see both of those things playing out for both those teams? 88:09 Well, let's start with the big 12. 88:11 Yeah. 88:12 BYU did a massive solid to the big 12, massive. 88:16 The big 12 needed that for, you know, for its reputation, for how the playoff committee 88:22 will view those teams once they start meeting, because the big 12 didn't have a signature 88:26 non-conference win from anybody before BYU beat Notre Dame. 88:30 And now everybody who is in BYU's orbit benefits from BYU winning that game. 88:37 when BYU plays Utah, if Utah beats BYU, they absorb some benefit of BYU beating Notre Dame. 88:44 It also allows BYU some grace. I don't know that BYU has to win the Big 12 now to make the 88:49 playoff. Like, yeah, if you have a Big 12 playoff game between, let's say Texas Tech that comes in 88:55 at, I mean, and Texas Tech may come in at 12 and 0. Their schedule kind of lends itself to 89:01 that, but if you have a 12 and O Texas tech and they beat BYU in the big 12 championship 89:06 game and hand them, let's say their second loss, they're both getting in if BYU in Utah 89:14 play a rematch in the big 12 championship game, a good chance they're both getting in. 89:17 Cause I think to even make the big 12 championship game, you're going to have to be nine and 89:22 over eight and one in the league. 89:23 That's why Houston has to win at Utah this weekend. 89:25 If they want to stay in the race, but that lends itself to a situation where 89:30 you're probably gonna have the loser having at least 10 wins. 89:35 And I think that's gonna get two teams in. 89:38 Yeah, yeah. 89:39 And then in terms of Notre Dame, 89:43 I don't know if they can lose the Miami game. 89:46 Like SMU is their last bullet point, 89:48 but I don't know, this would be, 89:51 it would be shocking if it happened again 89:52 where they go 10 and two and don't make the playoff, 89:55 but it does feel like they had to always split 89:59 the BYU Miami games. So now this Miami game on November 7th is like the pressure is insane 90:04 on my on Notre Dame. Absolutely. Now that Notre Dame can get some help. If some of the teams 90:10 it's already beaten can do so. If your badgers can beat USC this weekend and then can win 90:16 some games down the stretch, it makes that win look much better. If UNC is not bad, 90:21 right? North Carolina is not bad. I think they're like they're going to lose to Miami, 90:25 but they're gonna keep, they're gonna keep looking like they're much better than last year. 90:30 Like they could be a seven or eight win team. 90:33 SMU has one loss. If SMU is going to the ACC championship game and Notre Dame beats them, 90:39 that would help too. But that said, if they lose to Miami, it will put them in the same 90:45 situation they were in last year. And I know they've got that rule, but if you're below 90:50 12, it doesn't matter about that room. Like last year, it was, you know, are you in the 90:56 top 11? Oh, I was actually the top 10 because of the conference champion rule. This case 91:02 was different. They've got to be in the top 12. But yeah, I don't know if they'll be 91:08 in the top 12, because I don't know if the rest of their schedule is going to be 91:11 strong enough. So they really do need to beat Miami at home when they have a chance. 91:15 So what you're saying is it's time for a different rule. We need, we need another 91:18 new rule. 91:19 guess what PFT they made another new rule yeah it's gonna be 2014 they did they 91:24 did all made what are your thoughts on the 2014 play if we discussed it after 91:27 the news came out we love it Andy I think it's great for great for the game 91:31 great for the sport great for the fans first and foremost but yeah nobody 91:35 nobody wants it nobody wants this except coaches don't want to get a 91:39 fired 80s who want to justify the money they're spending and TV networks who 91:46 think they're going to get better September inventory because you can lose more games. 91:50 No, my issue is you just triple the size of the playoff and 91:54 people got more scared of scheduling good games. 91:57 Now, I am not a chicken little. 91:59 I do not think this is going to kill the sport. 92:00 I don't think it's going to kill the regular season. 92:03 Last week was a great example of this. 92:05 And again, I would rather them, I'd rather them stay at 12. 92:10 But Big Cat, Auburn beating Georgia. 92:14 I know. 92:14 Auburn beating Georgia is like a 22 beating a one. I get it 92:18 But let me just push back for a second because I also do not think it's gonna kill the sport 92:23 I'm still watch the sport. Yep. I think having like now you get three Mulligan's four Mulligan's 92:31 Saturday doesn't feel as 92:34 Important when it's like Texas loses to Florida and we're like, well, they can still lose two more 92:39 Oh, you know, I disagree with you on that though because Texas losing to Florida 92:44 was not about Texas losing. It was about arch. 92:47 Of course. Of course. There's there's always storylines. 92:50 I just think that like the the the the feeling of do or die 92:55 every Saturday is a is a feature of college football that 92:59 the NFL doesn't have as much. And that's what you're an LSU fan. 93:03 What reason do you have to watch if they lose to Auburn this weekend? 93:06 What reason do you have to watch the last five games or the last four 93:09 games if they lose to Auburn this weekend? 93:11 Yeah, I mean, I guess you're right on that. 93:13 I think you could do the counter where it's like the Georgia fans are Georgia 93:18 Is Georgia gonna have the same environment every single Saturday when they know every single year 93:22 They're just in the playoff like no matter what yes 93:25 They had the same environment when they weren't in the play. Okay. Okay. So I think attendance is the thing 93:31 That's actually gonna be hurt more than anything. I don't know. I watch that Tennessee game at Tennessee 93:35 I have a game incredible scene incredible scene those rivalry games for sure, but if you still make it a party 93:42 40, which it still is in like in the SEC in the big 10, it's seven reunions a year. 93:50 I still think people are coming. 93:52 Like they're tenant like attendance in the SEC is up. 93:55 So yeah, I just I'm more like the do or die nature of college football is definitely 94:00 getting lessened. 94:01 And it's like, imagine I just keep looking back. 94:04 We're never going to go back in time. 94:06 But we PFT mentioned 2007 imagine Saturday in 2007. 94:11 that would have literally would have eliminated like all the teams it would 94:16 have been crazy to happen to those fan bases they would have just been like oh 94:18 well they still watch because bowls were important then 94:21 that is the fact well it depends on who you were 94:24 yeah like that always dependent on who you were yes like there's a reason 94:27 Steve Spurrier said you can't spell citrus without UT because he knew that 94:31 was the most crippling thing he'd say about Tennessee at the time 94:33 yeah so but there was there was a different 94:36 you're saying like those fans in why I mean I remember the days when 94:40 a nine win Wisconsin season was a good season. 94:42 Going to Outback Bowl was a fun season. 94:45 I watched every single snap. 94:46 So I wouldn't say that people just tuned out. 94:50 But Wisconsin, for example, it would be very much alive 94:53 for a playoff berth right now. 94:55 That's why you know I'm coming at it from an unbiased take. 94:58 This is a rule that will help the level 95:01 that my team plays in, but I still don't really love it 95:05 because I just don't, I don't think there are 24 teams 95:08 that can win it all. 95:08 And I don't see but I think I think we're maybe getting closer. 95:12 And I'm not saying they did this on purpose or they were smart. 95:14 I'm saying they may have lucked into this. 95:16 Yeah. 95:17 Because the way is moving because Auburn does not go win at Georgia 10 years ago. 95:26 That that version of Auburn there. 95:28 Obviously, there were Auburn teams that could have done that. 95:29 This version of Auburn does not go win at Georgia 10 years ago 95:32 because that that Georgia team is too deep. 95:35 they have five players that Auburn doesn't have and they just they just 95:42 kill them. That's the difference. Do you ever do the Brian Windhorst fingers and say, 95:46 hmm, isn't that interesting? Isn't that interesting that all the good teams 95:50 lost to teams that might be in that 20 to 24 range right after the 95:55 I didn't think about that. I'm not gonna lie. I did think about that this 95:58 week and I was like, oh, and the Illuminati press a button here to say 96:02 It can happen 24 might not be so bad boys. Yeah, you expect upsets the Cinderella stories coming out of the 24 spot 96:09 And the in the bracket in the tournament as they're gonna call it. It's gonna be amazing. I 96:14 Listen, I I'm I 96:17 Think it's gonna be strange like when there's no 96:21 Conference championship games next year. Yeah, that's gonna be bizarre. I actually that's the benefit 96:25 I actually I do that's one of the things that I'd like about the 2014 plan 96:30 because it became so irrelevant. 96:32 The first week, which is the one that replaces 96:34 the conference championship game week 96:36 is teams nine through 24 play. 96:38 That's who should have to play 96:40 to get into the final 16. 96:42 Correct. 96:42 Not two of the best killing each other in a rock fight 96:47 like Texas and Georgia a couple of years ago. 96:48 Maybe I'm coming around to it. 96:50 I just more, I do think we're gonna lose a little bit 96:53 but we've already lost it. 96:54 That's what I keep telling myself. 96:56 The day that Ohio State lost to Michigan 96:58 and still won the national title, like we kind of lost that feeling of here's the crippling 97:04 loss that happens to your rival. Here's the thing I tell people, the old 97:09 bowl system sucked. The BCS sucked. The four teams sucked. You may have pleasant memories 97:14 of it because you didn't know any better. Like you were living under a very oppressive regime 97:19 then. And so when you were fed these tiny little scraps, you thought they were good. 97:26 This version the 12 team is so much better. Yes. Yeah. Yeah for sure 12. I liked I like 12 97:32 It's not that I'm saying we should go back to the four the BCS 97:35 I've seen people actually argue that I will say I had I went I was looking at people discussed this when it first was announced and 97:43 I did get some like real like strong waves of nostalgia 97:48 Because underneath someone's tweet. It was some major. I think it was either Herb Street or someone else 97:55 was a guy, two guys arguing about Oklahoma State and Alabama in 2011, and be like old 98:04 school BCS argument, they're like, look at what Oklahoma State did. It's like, shouldn't 98:08 have lost to Iowa State, dude. And I was like, man, I kind of do miss this a little bit. 98:12 But I don't miss it at all. I wanted to see that Oklahoma State team play LSU in 98:16 Alabama that year. 98:17 I know. 98:18 And what's fun is like back in the day, we used to do hypothetical brackets. Like, 98:21 What if what if they did have a March Madness style tournament wouldn't this be awesome to look at and now? 98:26 I'm seeing the opposite where I'm seeing nostalgia like tweets of people bringing back to the computer 98:33 standings this week 98:35 Like I've seen like I've seen the hypothetical computer rankings and people be like we need to bring back some of the some of the old school 98:42 Computers like the guy that had UCF winning the national championship. I've seen that guy's rankings brought back up again 98:48 And it's a, it's a, I, I said this to, uh, 98:51 Racila when he was on, 98:52 but part of the beauty of college football is that it's an imperfect sport and 98:56 half the fun of it is sometimes spent arguing over ways to fix how imperfect it 99:00 is. Yes. Well, it's, it's like, 99:02 it's like big cat always says about the ABS that this eliminates bar 99:07 arguments. Right. Right. Like it's, 99:09 it's a lot of conversation that we lose. 99:11 The thing about it is it college football still has enough imperfections 99:15 and just screwball things that go on 99:18 that I don't think we'll ever run out of those things 99:22 to argue about. 99:23 I mean, for God's sake, 99:24 there was a second left on the clock 99:26 when B1, you know the name. 99:27 Yeah, we should have mentioned that. 99:28 We can argue about that all week 99:29 if all this other crap hadn't happened. 99:31 Blame Steve Young, he was the first one on the field. 99:33 So all right, so you've pushed me 99:35 a little closer to 24. 99:36 No, I still think it's bad. 99:38 Which I hate because I don't want 24. 99:39 I don't want to be the guy proselytizing for it. 99:42 No. 99:42 I think it's overall bad for the sport, 99:44 But it's not it's also not the end of the world because college football it's been broken long before 99:49 Yeah, that's why I will continue to be broken long into the future. That's why we love it. Yes 99:54 Yes, the brokenness is all part of the charm. It's a feature not a bug. It is. I get a question for you about 100:01 What the the upcoming matchup it we're looking at the future a little bit, but Oregon State Boise State potentially playing 100:07 Do you think now is the winner? I know Boise State Boise State is probably penciled in right now 100:14 as the non-power conference selection. 100:18 If Oregon State beats Boise State in that game, 100:21 is there any chance that Oregon State leapfrogs in 100:26 to the top 12, or do you think that would then go to 100:29 an undefeated James Madison? 100:32 Well, you're leaving somebody out. 100:35 There's a really big game this weekend 100:37 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 100:38 Jason Ack! 100:40 Where the North Dakota State buys 100:41 and are going to play against, yes, former Badger Jason Eck and the Lobos and if New 100:50 Mexico wins this game and then can beat UNLV, I think there's a chance there in that mix 100:56 too. 100:56 But the Oregon state thing is fascinating. 100:58 If you guys have not seen Jesse LaGrie play football, holy crap, true freshman. 101:04 It's the best. 101:05 Better numbers than Jeremiah Smith. 101:07 Smith. I'm still putting Jeremiah Smith higher on my Heisman ballot at the moment. But Jesse 101:12 LaGrie has been awesome. He's probably the best freshman in college football. They have 101:16 a quarterback named Braden Atkinson who's been incredible. 101:19 Jamarca Shepard is their coach. He was an assistant in Alabama last year took over like has 101:23 just revolutionized this program that remember when the Pac 12 exploded, they were left 101:29 for dead and they're just incredible. They lost competitive games at Houston and 101:36 against Texas Tech, and those two teams might actually wind up playing for the Big 12 title 101:42 for all we know. 101:43 They're both good in the Big 12. 101:45 We know that. 101:46 And so, yes, I think there's a good chance, but PFT, to your point, if they've got to 101:52 decide between an 11 and two Oregon State, a 12 and one New Mexico and a 13 and OJMU, 102:03 I think they may default to 13 and OJMU. 102:05 You think so I think I think so and every argument that they made last year every every argument 102:11 That was against Jamie that they made last year you can make again this year 102:14 But maybe stronger it might even be schedule a stronger 102:17 It's a stronger case this year and the fact that Virginia Tech cancelled the game 102:21 Really ended up fucking Jamie well they should get credit for that 102:24 That's kind of as a win for Jamie for the purposes of the rankings 102:26 We should change the rules that yes any time a team cancels on another team 102:32 even though we're not going to put it on their record when the playoff committee meets they must give them an extra win 102:37 They're scared assume that team right. You were scared. You didn't show up 102:42 That's a win for the other team. Yeah, I know the way I see it playing out this year 102:45 I've kind of I hope that this is in the case because I did take a 102:49 Parley like week two on the jmu caliphate to all three of them make the playoffs 102:53 But the way I see it playing out is that if the if there's any way for them to be left out this year 102:58 They'll probably look at last year look at the same argument and then look at the first half of Oregon 103:04 Jamie you and say, okay, let's get somebody new in there 103:07 Well, the thing about it is if there was somebody who is gonna come out of the American who was dominant 103:13 That would be one thing but that that leaves me a mess this year 103:16 Yeah, so that that's probably the strongest and the deepest of the group of leagues 103:20 but they're gonna beat each other up and so it is probably gonna come down to 103:26 to the Boise State Oregon State winner, New Mexico and JMU. 103:31 And then you have to figure, the thing is, 103:32 JMU would probably just hope for some chaos 103:35 in the other leagues. 103:36 Like New Mexico loses to North Dakota State, 103:39 but beats UNLV and then they play each other again. 103:41 Like something like that, that's, that would help JMU. 103:45 Yep. And then in the, in the big 10, what, 103:47 if you were to say right now, 103:49 gun to your head, gun to your head, Andy. 103:50 Gun to your head. 103:51 What teams, what teams from the big 10 103:53 are going to be in the top 12 at the end of the year? 103:55 Mm-hmm 103:57 This is this is so hard. Hold on. I'll like put the gun back on my head. Yeah, you don't have to do it to yourself. That's 104:03 Yeah, I know I'd like Ohio State with a backup quarterback. Yeah 104:13 You know what yeah, I think Iowa has a very good shot I 104:20 Don't know about Oregon and I don't know about USC. I'm Michigan's not dead, which is crazy and Michigan isn't dead 104:27 quarterback. Yeah. Like if they beat Indiana this weekend, like it's, it's Oh, they're 104:33 all UCLA UCLA. I'm so sorry. Yeah. Yeah. My apologies to, to, you know, Mikey Volcano 104:39 and company, but yeah, UCLA, I'll, I'll say they're in comfortably and maybe Ohio State 104:45 and then it gets really dicey after that. But Hey, I watched that Iowa team go up 104:50 to Washington with Jeremy Heckelinsky. And I know Kirk Farance hasn't, hasn't 104:54 announced anything he's not going to. But if you, if you go with heckle inskey and it 104:59 looks like that the rest of the way, that's a playoff team. 105:02 Yeah. Yeah. I agree. I was right there. I mean, Dave, that went against Michigan. I know that 105:10 the probability of that happening and they got outplayed the whole game. It doesn't 105:13 matter. They won the game. It's fun. It is fun right now where both, both power 105:18 conferences, it's like you can flip a coin and there can be three. It's going to 105:23 interesting to see who can survive if there's a lot of three loss teams as well. Cause that's 105:28 going to get a little dicey. I didn't mention Northwestern either. Yeah. There's a good chance 105:34 Northwestern can be in this mix because now before the season we're like Northwestern's got 105:38 the hardest schedule in the world. They have to play all these great teams on the road. 105:42 What if they win a couple of these because they could. Yeah. No, they've looked really 105:46 good. Their offense is so, is so fun to watch in the ACC. Is it, is it? I mean, Miami almost 105:52 lost to Florida State. Florida State got screwed. Wake Forest is good. We've mentioned UNC. They're 105:59 playing better, but it's, it is still Miami's losing. Does it feel like it's a one bid league? 106:04 It does at the moment. It does at the moment. We'll see because like SMU could change 106:08 some minds there if they keep winning because they play Notre Dame there at the end. 106:12 And, uh, but yeah, I don't foresee a second team coming out of the ACC. 106:18 And it's interesting that Miami. 106:20 So that Florida state game is the game they lose year after year after year. 106:25 The random, and it's not a random ACC game because it's rivalry, but given Florida state 106:29 circumstances after that Louisville loss where the fan base was already out on Mike 106:33 Norvell. 106:34 And then after Louisville, they were like, we are completely done. 106:37 He's got to go. 106:39 And then all of a sudden they're they're hanging with a top two team on the road 106:45 But that's a game. Miami would lose in the past. They didn't lose it 106:49 Yeah, so maybe they're not gonna lose any of these. Yeah, what do we think about the last play in that game? 106:55 Well, the next the last one's the one that bugs me because I don't think Xavier Chaplin held 107:00 I think he did exactly what you're supposed to do 107:02 defensive line was overextended. 107:05 He pushed down on his back, put him on the ground. 107:08 That's what you're supposed to do. 107:09 So that was not holding. 107:11 The last play, I thought it looked like the DB had the ball. 107:16 And I know Deuce Robinson is grabbing for it, 107:18 but it looked like the DB had possession of it 107:20 with the limited thing we could. 107:22 And but I do want to, can I say, 107:23 thank you to the ACC here for letting us hear. 107:27 Oh, it's the best. 107:28 The deliberations, because I said 107:30 When they started doing that last year, I was like, well, what if you get a situation like the Virginia Tech? 107:35 Miami Hail Mary from a few years ago where nobody can see shit. Are they gonna let us hear those people going? 107:41 We can't see shit. Yeah. Yes, they are. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah 107:45 I mean that was a weird one because it felt like one camera angle 107:48 I could see what they were talking about with Miami player catching it against his body the other camera angle 107:54 It did look like Florida State 107:56 initially had possession like their hands look like they were 107:59 initially a big strong guy like it's it's hard. It would be 108:04 hard to take a ball away from him. The the other angle where 108:07 the DB appeared to take the ball in and put it in his elbow 108:13 as he fell down. That's the one that that I was kind of going 108:16 by and I think that's the one they ended up going by but 108:19 again, should have never happened that play should have 108:21 never happened. It wasn't a hold on the play before. 108:23 Yeah, can we put in a new rule that allows like important rivalry games to always have the home colors 108:31 Because that Tennessee Alabama game was perfect. It was so good. Wasn't it? Oh, the sea was incredible 108:36 Aesthetically and then you had the smoke coming the cigar smoke coming up out of the field the sun setting 108:41 It was it was beautiful, but it's you think about it's the autumn colors 108:44 Yeah, if you're actually driving around Knoxville this week you get that kind of autumn color situation 108:51 So it's it's it's perfect. Third Saturday in October orange and crimson. That's that's 108:56 Perfect. Yeah, also, we should mention 108:58 The the probably the most impressive stat still going 109:03 The it is still 109:05 2010 is the last time Alabama lost a game on the road and the fans didn't rush the field 109:12 That is that's something that's incredible. It's incredible. Every time 109:17 Testament savings dominance. Yeah, it's a huge huge deal for the other team and Tennessee would be the one team 109:23 I like that was I watched every clip every every highlight of of the the post game with with them playing Dixieland delight and 109:32 Kailin de Boralmo shitting himself with spooky rocky top spooky rocky top is so good 109:36 It was just that's what college football has that the NFL will never have was that every time 109:41 I heard spooky rocky top the only thing that kept going through my mind is that's a dude singing that 109:47 It's crazy. It's crazy. All right, Andy. Last question. 109:51 Roback question. R-H-O-B-A-C-K.com. 109:53 You're wearing it right now. 109:54 Promo Code Take. Best Q-Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, 109:58 shorts in the game. 109:59 Zach, you ready? Promo Code Take. Roback.com. 110:03 Go for it, Zach. 110:03 What's going on, Andy? How are we? 110:05 What's up, Zach? 110:06 What's going on? 110:07 It's a great interview so far. You're the man. 110:09 I did have a quick question. 110:11 If you had a... 110:14 Let's just say maybe if you had a list 110:15 That was teams that could fall apart quick coming up soon who would be at the top of that list? Oh, I like that 110:21 Oh, I'm so glad you asked this 110:24 It's probably the team that is favorite at home 110:27 But has a quarterback question and the coach came out yesterday and said he needs a better version of said quarterback 110:34 With his name could be Joe Smith. It could be Arch Manning. I don't know. Mm-hmm, but Texas 110:39 Plays Ole Miss this weekend. Texas has to win 110:44 Texas is not getting what it needs out of its quarterback. 110:47 It's not getting what it needs out of its offensive line. 110:49 It's not getting what it needs out of the play calling. 110:52 If Texas were to lose to Ole Miss, now remember, they've still got a pretty tough schedule 110:58 the rest of the way. 110:58 They have to go to LSU. 111:00 They have to go to Texas A&M. 111:02 This could get pretty ugly. 111:04 Mm-hmm. 111:06 I, it's good questions, Zach, and I, I agree they feel like they're on the brink 111:10 right now where it's like, this is Oregon's the other one where I know they've already 111:15 lost twice, but this does feel with some of the stuff that happened on after the game feels 111:21 like season from hell situation, uh, if like, right, no Dante more, they're drastically different 111:27 offense, whether it's Dylan Raiola or Brock Thomas, uh, both of them have been horrible 111:32 at times. Uh, Dylan Raiola did come in and lead them back against Nebraska. So maybe 111:37 There's there's some hope there with him, but like they're going to play Illinois this weekend 111:42 Like I'll take Brett Bielama against a quarterback. I just got benched two weeks ago. Mm-hmm. Yeah, that's true 111:48 One last one and if BYU continues to win how soon till we start having the 111:53 2019 LSU conversation 111:57 You will not get me to ever compare any team to that team and I realized the person who did compare them 112:06 Qualified it with a something you do pretty frequently PFT. Yeah. I said people are saying 112:12 Yeah, I was saying. Yes. Yes. People were saying some people will say it's not even people are some people are going to say 112:19 Mm-hmm. Yes. It could happen. Yeah, there's a lot of people out there 112:22 That's my alma mater's team that was compared or by by people. Yeah, it was gonna be compared by people you were to 112:29 You're gonna do it. Yeah to 2019 LSU 112:32 to you. I'm so glad I never had to actually get to the point where I made that comparison. 112:36 They are not that good. That said, the Tramiel Jones junior era in Gainesville might be upon 112:45 us. We'll see who they decided to trot out there against Georgia and Atlanta next weekend. 112:49 But that was, that was, that was fun to see him kind of click into place that last 112:54 drive of the first half. And you're like, Oh, oh, the young man is now comfortable. 112:58 Let's see what happens. And he was awesome the rest of the way 113:02 Thank you for the reminder that the games now in Atlanta because they're redoing the stadium in Jacksonville. That's right 113:08 Yes, keeping the pool. I think right. Yeah. Yeah, we're gonna. I think they're keeping the pool 113:12 That's also bullshit for you guys because Atlanta is a little easier. That's that's kind of bullshit 113:18 well, I mean look 113:20 The the Jacksonville people have been good to the series. Yeah, it's only 70 miles from Gainesville. It's a good deal 113:26 I'll take it but 113:27 But apparently the Georgia people like coming down. 113:31 I go back to Larry Munson, the great Georgia radio announcer when, when Lindsay Scott scored 113:35 on that crazy touchdown in 1980 where he's, he's just naming all the condo complexes. 113:40 Yeah. 113:41 Where Georgia people say like, it's, it's, everybody loves it. 113:45 So it'll be back in Jacksonville because Jacksonville is going to pay a lot of money for 113:49 it. 113:49 But yeah, you get, get into Atlanta this year. 113:50 I'm usually, I'm usually anti neutral site games unless the neutral site is outdoors. 113:55 I hate neutral site indoor games. It kind of it loses all the soul if it's outside. That's a different thing 114:03 We just need to get do a better job if we're gonna be doing all the other stuff to make money for everybody handover fist 114:08 Can we at least put in a clause like let's limit some of these dome neutral site games? 114:13 Well, I I'm with you there because I like I like the elements in football to I 114:17 Unlike Hank. I believe whether is a thing 114:20 the 114:20 The, my thing about Florida, Georgia, and it is Florida, Georgia, because F become, 114:26 comes before G in the alphabet and it's a neutral side game. 114:29 I think it should be played on campus. 114:31 Yeah. 114:32 That's selfish because I think Athens is the best college town in America. 114:36 And my, you know, my folks who went to Florida really never get to experience it. 114:42 And I feel like that's a, that's a shame because they got to go one time in the 114:47 mid nineties and they never get to go again. And I'm telling you Athens is the best college 114:52 town in America. They got a taste. All right, Andy, you're the best man. Thank you so much. 114:56 We appreciate it. Everyone go check out Andy on three. And like I said, the college football 115:00 Enquirer podcast will talk again in a couple months and we'll be closer to a 12 team playoff 115:07 our last one ever. We hardly knew you hardly knew you. Thanks, Andy. Andy Staples 115:14 is brought to you by our great friends over at AuraFrames and they remind you of the moments 115:18 so that you can tell the stories. I bought my mom an AuraFrame frame a couple years ago for Christmas. 115:23 It's her favorite thing. It sits in her living room right now. Yeah, it's like 119:40 She's a beast we live on like an acre. So there's lots of 119:44 Birds mice all the stuff. So she has lots of fun 119:48 So you just let your cat out at night and just like go go have fun. Just hunt some stuff and then come back tomorrow 119:54 Yeah, it is what it is 119:55 I mean, there's coyotes and stuff out there, but we give her a little a little treat and we send her on her way 120:01 Tell her be safe. That's actually kind of cool. Yeah 120:06 Yeah, I respect that yeah, that's a self-sufficient cat that cats a grinder. Yeah, yeah 120:12 That's awesome. Do you think that as a tight end? 120:16 Do you think first question about that is Iowa officially tight end you are they number one? I 120:24 I think we have to be, I think as of recent, definitely going back to like the early 2000s 120:30 with KF and starting with Dallas Clark, Moyaki, Brandon Myers, it's just go down the list. 120:38 And then the recent years starting with George, just it's been ridiculous since then. It's 120:43 almost like every starting tight end has had a chance to make the NFL roster after they 120:48 come out of Iowa. 120:49 Yeah. 120:50 What do you think it is about Iowa in particular? Cause they're not necessarily known for being 120:53 explosive offenses all the time. But fullbacks, tight ends, they have some good pieces there. 121:00 Like what is it about Iowa that makes great offensive pass catching tight ends once they 121:05 get to the league? They have some sort of formula, but I think they recruit high school 121:11 receivers. They teach them how to be tough at Iowa. And I think the toughness part 121:17 you can learn, you know, you learn to block, but the ability to, um, be crafty in your routes 121:23 and such, I think that, you know, that's a little more God given. So they do a good job 121:28 with recruiting. KF always has done. So I got to maybe attribute it to that. 121:32 Yeah. Yeah. It's also interesting because it feels like every time a guy pops from 121:38 Iowa, like you can look at their career in Iowa. It's not like they were catching, 121:43 you know, 40 balls and a bunch of touchdowns at Iowa. 121:47 It's like they have the, they have the skill set, 121:50 but they weren't used that way. 121:51 And then GMs and the NFL are like, all right, 121:53 that guy is an Iowa guy. 121:55 We know he can block and now he can catch. 121:57 Is that like, 121:58 did you know that you could be this dynamic 121:59 of an offensive weapon when you got drafted by the Lions? 122:05 Well, you got to consider the fact that my, 122:07 my last two years at Iowa, we were not, 122:10 we were not exactly dynamic. 122:12 right. Our side of the ball. So, you know, I was catching a couple passes here and there, 122:17 but I think the GMs are more at the credits to find the diamond in the rough per se. Yeah. 122:23 So, so, but when you get, when you get to, uh, to Detroit and it's, you know, Dan Campbell 122:29 and Ben Johnson's there at the time, was there, was there like a meeting where they're 122:32 like, Hey, I know that you didn't play in like a crazy offense in Iowa, but we 122:37 think you can do this and like kind of instilling it in you. I mean, you 122:40 have 58 catches your senior year, but like instilling it to you that you're going to be 122:44 used in a way that you were never used in college. Yeah. Being like a pivotal part of the offense 122:52 was not new. You know, I did get the ball my last couple of years at Iowa. It wasn't 122:58 an issue in terms of targets, but in terms of offensive quality, just being, you know, 123:04 I feel so bad, you know, shitting on my former offense, but you know, so you guys struggle 123:11 sometimes. 123:13 Yeah. 123:13 Coming into that league with Ben Johnson as the OC, and I'm like, oh my God, we're scoring 123:18 like 30 points a game consistently, like this is unbelievable. 123:22 You know, that was just an eye-opening moment like that offenses are supposed to operate 123:28 this way. 123:29 At a high level. 123:30 It was neat. 123:31 Do you think, uh, do you think coach Campbell coaches you harder as a tight end himself? 123:36 Definitely. 123:37 He's, I mean, he'll say that to us, to the media, to everybody. 123:39 He's like, we're going to be harder on you guys than anybody else. 123:43 Oh, I like that. 123:44 Yeah. 123:44 I like that. 123:45 I also, you got to respect, but it's also, yeah, he's trying to elevate your play. 123:50 Yeah. 123:50 You respect and you appreciate, but at times it's tough. 123:55 Yeah. 123:56 Yeah. 123:56 Yeah. I was wondering about this with Coach Campbell. We're big fans of Coach Campbell. 124:01 We've had him on the show a couple of times, but his aggressiveness and this may might go 124:06 also to, you know, Ben Johnson when he was the OC there and I see the Bears do it all
