A Witch’s Mistake: When the Darkness Strikes Back | Real Ghost Stories CLASSIC

In the dead of a Canadian winter, a teenage witch forgot one crucial rule: always cast a circle.

For Abby, what began as simple witchcraft — sage, crystals, moon rituals — quickly turned into something far darker. One December night, her sealed bedroom filled with a swarm of black insects, buzzing under the ceiling light like a living curse. By morning, they were gone… every single one.

From that night forward, Abby’s world began to unravel. She felt drained, bruised, and watched. A black fog lingered just out of sight. Even her cousin — also a practitioner — saw the return of the same mysterious bugs during their rituals. Then came the night of the Supermoon, when Abby dreamed of a radiant goddess who told her the darkness was gone. But one of her moon water jars had turned the color of apple juice — and it pulsed with the same dreadful energy she’d felt during the haunting.

Was it an elemental spirit turned vengeful, a demonic attachment, or a warning from the goddess herself? Whatever it was, Abby sealed that jar in wax and never opened it again.

Some spells close with words. Others… must be contained.
