The Horicon Bunk Bed: Wisconsin’s Most Cursed Piece of Furniture | Real Ghost Stories CLASSIC!

In Wisconsin, some stories never die—especially when the furniture’s cursed.
In 1987, the Horicon bunk bed became one of the state’s most infamous hauntings. Doors slammed, radios turned on by themselves, and a family fled in terror. When the bed was finally dragged to the dump and destroyed, one listener was there to see it happen. What they witnessed marked the end of a haunting… or maybe just the beginning.

A year earlier, at UW–Whitewater, freshman Joe found himself alone in a campus known for witchcraft, tunnels, and ghost stories. One quiet night, he awoke at 2:30 A.M. to a whisper in his ear: “Do you want to talk?” No one was there. The TV turned on by itself, and the silence that followed was worse than any answer he might have gotten. For decades, Joe’s wondered—did he miss his one chance to speak with the dead?

From a cursed bunk bed to a haunted dorm, these are Wisconsin’s darkest whispers—proof that the state’s ghosts don’t just haunt its history… they wait for someone to listen.
