John Kosner is a long-time sports media executive, including a very successful leadership career at ESPN, where he was a huge advocate for sports fantasy and betting content. He has co-authored a new book with sports business luminary Ed Desser, who was at the forefront of turning the "Showtime" Los Angeles Lakers into a modern media brand. Desser then spent two decades doing the same thing for the NBA. Their new book is called ‘We're Live: Inside the Big Business of Sports Media’ and is available wherever books are sold. Also joining us is friend of the show Seth Wickersham, a best-selling author and ESPN journalist whose new book ‘Be On That Hill’ is a collection of his most legendary stories. We hear about his reporting in the world of the NFL and beyond, including anecdotes about the New England Patriots dynasty, the Disney relationship with the league, Jerry Jones, Deion Sanders, and much more.
