Alcoa Rises, Birkenstocks Drops, JB Hunt Slips as Cost Pressures Weigh on Results
On this episode of Stock Movers:
Alcoa (AA) shares rose as much as 6.3% after the aluminum producer reported third-quarter adjusted earnings that beat estimates, helped by higher aluminum production and prices.
Birkenstocks (BIRK) shares drop after Williams Trading LLC cut the recommendation on the footwear company to sell from hold. Analyst Sam Poser says BIRK’s FY28 targets will not be met, and promotional activity is increasing, especially in Europe.
JB Hunt (JBHT) shares slip. The trucking firm reported third-quarter results, with operating ratio and operating ratio excluding fuel surcharge higher than estimates. Analysts note that these cost pressures, weighing on margins, will take time to ease.
