Constellation Brands Drops, Seagate Slides, Biotech Falls
Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market, a look at the notable movers:
On this episode of Stock Movers:
- Constellation Brands (STZ) shares are down 4.9% in postmarket trading Tuesday after the beverage company reaffirmed its comparable earnings per share forecast for the full year.
- Seagate Technology (STX) shares are down 9.1% on Tuesday, after Bloomberg News reported that the company, along with Toshiba, is locked in a contest for TDK Corp.’s magnetic-heads business for hard-disk drives. Western Digital is down 6.4%
- Biotech stocks took a hit Tuesday, with Vaxcyte, Moderna and Revolution Medicines posting some of the steepest losses. The Medical-Development Biotech industry group toppled, while the revenue-winning biotech group tumbled and the profitable biotechs rose. The end of the year could be a stronger period for biotech stocks, with conferences like the European Society of Medical Oncology meeting giving biopharma companies the chance to present potentially stock-stoking data.
