Led Zeppelin Live Aid ’85 – Celebration Day or Misty Mountain Slop

Led Zeppelin’s infamous Live Aid reunion gets the full TIJ watchalong treatment with returning Pod Of Thunder hosts Chris L and Nick Pollack, and first-time TIJ guest, Detroit radio legend Meltdown! Was Zeppelin’s 1985 Live Aid performance really the train wreck rock history claims it was? Or has the story been blown way out of proportion for the last 40 years? The guys break down the entire set song-by-song including “Rock And Roll,” “Whole Lotta Love,” and “Stairway To Heaven,” and discuss Phil Collins flying to Philadelphia on the Concorde to play drums with Zeppelin, Jimmy Page’s legendary scarf battle, Robert Plant’s vocals, the chaos behind the scenes at Live Aid, and why the band never reunited for a full tour after John Bonham’s death. They also talk Ozzy’s reunion with Black Sabbath, the conspiracy surrounding Queen’s iconic Live Aid set, the massive cultural impact of the event itself, and whether Live Aid actually reignited interest in bands like Queen and Zeppelin for a whole new generation. Plus, hot takes, backstage stories, rock trivia, and plenty of laughs as the debate rages on about whether Led Zeppelin at Live Aid was actually way better than people remember!
