Daytime Fireworks: Ole Miss Rebels and the NFL Draft + Chris Beard is program-building

David Brandt, everyone’s favorite Associated Press reporter, and former Ole Miss beat reporter for the Clarion-Ledger, is back in the booth for an all-new edition of Daytime Fireworks.

Brandt was recently at the NFL spring meetings in Arizona. So, naturally, the 2023 NFL Draft came up. Timely, too. Draft-eligible Rebels went through Ole Miss Pro Day on Wednesday. But who should the Carolina Panthers No. 1 overall? What about Ole Miss players and their general draft prospects?

Plus, thoughts on a wild and wacky NCAA Tournament Final Four. In the year of Cinderellas, who do we think is the favorite to win it all? Could Miami (Fla.) and long-time head coach Jim Larranaga cut down the nets for the first time in school history? What about the defensive-heavy matchup between San Diego State and high-flying Florida Atlantic?

But the basketball talk doesn’t stop there. Brandt reacts in real time to the latest rumor-mill scoop regarding Chris Beard's debut Ole Miss coaching staff. In doing so, we take a trip down Rebel basketball memory lane.
