Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss era ends as only it could — messy as hell

Lane Kiffin has left a playoff-bound Ole Miss team to become the next head coach at rival LSU.

Defensive coordinator Pete Golding, the highest-paid coordinator in the SEC, takes over as the 40th head coach in school history. He’ll guide the 11-1 Rebels into the College Football Playoff. The Rebels are positioned to host a first-round game in Oxford.

Ben Garrett of the Ole Miss Spirit/On3 and Sudu Upadhyay went live amidst Sunday’s chaos, including on-the-scene reporting from Spirit contributor Brad Logan on the ground.
