Some days it feels like my boundaries are made of wet tissue paper—I know what I should say no to, yet I cave anyway and deal with the fallout later. Thankfully, God gives us the Spirit as a steady inner guide, even when our resolve wobbles and the consequences of giving in become painfully clear. Today’s story reminds us that God’s people have struggled with this too, and that sometimes courage looks like resisting the pressure around us and choosing faithfulness over the easy yes.
