The Seventy Weeks: The Most Precisely Predictive Prophecy in Scripture

In Daniel 9, the angel Gabriel gives Daniel a specific number: 69 weeks of years from a specific decree to the Anointed One's coming. 483 years. Using the documented decree of Artaxerxes I in 444 BC and the ancient prophetic calendar of 360 days per year: 173,880 days. Counted forward, that lands within the known range of Jesus's entry into Jerusalem before the crucifixion. This is not a coincidence. This is arithmetic. Today we run the calculation, examine the three major interpretive positions on the 70th week (futurist gap, preterist continuous, partial fulfillment), and establish the one thing all three positions agree on: the prophetic character of Daniel's blueprint is established by the 69-week precision. Whatever the 70th week contains, it is the final section of a document that has been accurate from the beginning.

Scripture: Daniel 9:24-27 | Nehemiah 2:1-8 | Matthew 24:15 | Luke 21:20-24 | Hebrews 10:11-14 | Revelation 11:2, 12:6
