Coaching an NHL Team with Don Granato + Pierre McGuire

Matt Marchese and Mike Futa kick off The FAN Hockey Show with Sportsnet's David Amber to talk about the Winnipeg Jets' victory over the Minnesota Wild, whether the Jets are on track to be serious Stanley Cup contenders, whether the Ottawa Senators can go on a long run despite recent struggles and whether the Toronto Maple Leafs should keep Mitch Marner and John Tavares on the same line when Auston Matthews returns. Next up, Matt and Mike discuss Peter Laviolette’s comments after last night’s game and Matt Rempe’s hit on Jake Neighbours (33:16). Later, former NHL Head Coach Don Granato joins the show to talk about his coaching experiences, how he deals with losing streaks, how to raise star players and how to deal with players on the trade block (49:51). Finally, Pierre McGuire from The Sick Podcast joins the show to debate the state of the Pittsburgh Penguins, whether Sidney Crosby made the correct move by re-signing with the organization, and how many NHL teams are considered elite (1:39:49).
