Sarah Clark ~ Mott Poll - Talking with Tweens About Body Changes
April 23, 2025 ~ Lucy Ann Lance is joined by Sarah Clark, Mott Poll Co-Director. A new Mott Poll from the University of Michigan reveals that many parents struggle to discuss puberty with their kids. Some parents confuse puberty talks with “the sex talk,” while others think their children are too young to understand. The poll suggests parents should proactively start these conversations around ages 7-8, utilizing pediatricians and age-appropriate books to ease the discussion.
