EXODUS: Alabama & Auburn LOSE In-State Recruits Because Of NIL–Oregon, Miami & Texas A&M Say Thanks

Alabama high school football recruiting faces a seismic shift as elite recruits like Jabarrius Garror and Ai’King Hall opt for out-of-state programs, lured by lucrative NIL deals from schools like Oregon, Texas A&M, and Miami. Brian Smith questions whether the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers should keep paying top dollar to keep local talent home, or if business decisions demand more strategic investments—especially when players may not play early.
Key insights include analysis of the top 10 Alabama prospects, Auburn and Alabama’s evolving NIL strategies, and how winning on the field impacts recruiting. Brian Smith explores the politics of recruiting relationships, the critical need to land in-state linemen, and whether the new approach will boost or cripple Auburn and Alabama’s SEC ambitions. Can traditional powerhouses survive with less local talent, or will the NIL era rewrite the SEC landscape?
