Ancient Coins: The First Mass Communication System

Ancient coins were more than just money—they were one of the most powerful forms of communication in the ancient world. In this episode of The Rabbit Hole, I sit down with ancient coin expert Dean Kinzer, founder of Kinzer Coins, to explore the hidden messages, symbols, and imagery found on ancient Greek and Roman coinage. After inheriting his father's extensive coin collection, Dean began a journey that led him deep into the world of ancient history, symbolism, and numismatics.Together, we examine how rulers used coins to spread political messages, promote religious beliefs, and shape public perception long before newspapers, television, or social media existed. From eagles and laurel wreaths to serpents, stars, suns, and divine eyes, we trace the origins of symbols that continue to appear on modern currencies, government seals, financial institutions, and corporate logos.Have these symbols simply survived because they are powerful visual tools, or do they point to deeper traditions that have been intentionally preserved for thousands of years? Most of us have folded a dollar bill and seen claims about hidden imagery or secret messages. But what if the real story begins much earlier? What was ancient money telling people, and what messages might still be hidden in plain sight today?Follow me down the rabbit hole as we uncover the fascinating history of symbolism on coins and explore the connections between the ancient world and modern society.https://kinzercoins.com/www.stayskeptical.comWise Wolf Gold: https://www.wolfpack.gold/?ref=jvujkwgsSources: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jcwvgWpPz8GqLxNwpeJM7AHqBJL2O3JWVdE8ggKK7_8/edit?usp=sharing
