Gran Fondos for All: Expanding the Horizons of Outdoor Sports

Cycling figured it out with the Gran Fondo. A gathering with no pressure and a celebration of the activity and the community.

So why don't we have the equivalent of the Gran Fondo for every other outdoor adventure sport? Running in particular relies on races for the runners to gather even if only a small percentage of racers can actually win any given race.
