The Lost Diary of Admiral Richard Byrd | A Case Reopened Investigation

This Case Reopened episode of The Ryan Files revisits one of the most controversial documents in modern exploration history — the alleged secret diary of Admiral Richard Byrd.

The diary describes a classified 1947 Arctic flight that appears to defy everything we think we know:
uncharted land beyond the polar ice, malfunctioning instruments, advanced aircraft, and an encounter that — if even partially true — would fundamentally challenge our understanding of the world.

Admiral Byrd was no fringe figure. He was a decorated U.S. Navy officer, a Medal of Honor recipient, and one of the most respected explorers of the 20th century. Which raises the central question of this episode:

Was this diary pure fabrication — or was it buried because it revealed something we were never meant to know?

This episode does not tell you what to believe. It re-examines the record, presents the claims as they were written, and invites you to decide for yourself.
