Movies: Little Miss Sunshine
When seven-year-old Olive qualifies for a children’s beauty pageant, her wildly dysfunctional family has no choice but to pile into a battered yellow VW van and drive across the country to get her there on time. Her failed motivational speaker father, suicidal uncle, foul-mouthed grandfather, silent teenage brother, and exhausted mum all have one thing in common: they are each falling apart in their own way, and the van breaking down is the least of their problems. It is one of the funniest, most heartfelt films of the 2000s, and a quiet reminder that winning isn’t everything. If you have never seen it, The Best Movies You’ve Never Seen, thanks to Fetch and Hisense, is giving you the perfect reason to do so.
