#163 VR Vintage: Why We Conform. Why It's Important to Ask Questions and Gratitude.
(originally aired 11/23/19)
This week on Vitality Radio Podcast, Jared discusses why individuals conform. He shares research that people tend to go along with the overall group consensus versus choosing the correct answer when tested within a group. He also details the different layers of conformity - conversion vs. compliance and normative vs. informational.
You are the final authority of your health! You get to make the decisions on what makes you healthy or not healthy.
Jared also discusses the importance of gratitude. Research shows that for those who struggle with mental health, by proactively doing gratitude letters and not writing the negative feelings, individuals had a better positive outlook and better mental health. Research also suggests that gratitude affects the mind and body. Jared recommends listeners start a gratitude journal.
