Antonio Lucio Vivaldi was an Italian composer, virtuoso violinist and impresario of Baroque music. He pioneered many developments in orchestration, violin technique and programmatic music. He consolidated the emerging concerto form, especially the solo concerto, into a widely accepted and followed idiom.
