The Abduction of Peter Weinberger
In 1956, Angelo LaMarca abducted Peter Weinberger and left a ransom note for the baby's parents. A cat-and-mouse game with the Weinbergers and the police ensued while 1-month-old Peter's life hung in the balance. Multiple ransom demands were made, but the drops were never picked up. When the truth came out, people were horrified to learn the true details and the motive behind the abduction. LaMarca's actions devastated two families.
