Stoughton Was Paying Farwell's Twin While He Did This

William Farwell testified at the Farwell trial that he was intimate with Sandra Birchmore while on duty as a Stoughton police officer, on a shift the town was paying for.

He took the stand for the prosecution under immunity, so the government can't use his testimony to prosecute him. His twin brother Matthew pleaded not guilty in Sandra's death and the death of her unborn child.

Sandra joined the Stoughton Police Explorers youth program as a middle schooler. In 2022, Stoughton released an internal investigation that found William, Matthew and former deputy chief Robert Devine all had inappropriate relationships with her. Devine, who ran the Explorers, denies wrongdoing. William testified his relationship with Sandra didn't begin until 2018, when she was an adult.

Bob Motta of Defense Diaries and Robin Dreeke, the former chief of the FBI's Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program, sit down with me. We take on what Stoughton should demand after its own investigation named three of its officers.
